  1. I love hearing that... I hope its true about the World Series thing. i think they're being awfully generous, unless they have a different definition of "down the line" and "foreseeable future" than i do. i think this needs to be the year. Well, the phrases are vague enough that "down the line" could be "come November" and foreseeable future could be "this spring".
  2. Does Theriot actually go the opposite way a lot more often than he pulls the ball, or is that another case of my perception lying to me?
  3. Does anyone still want to draft besides Todd and I? EDIT: Actually, I think I'm done, as I like the guys I have better than the guys that are available at this point.
  4. Expected by seeding: Big East: 5 Big 12: 3 ACC: 3 Pac 10: 1 (but Washington, not Arizona) Big Ten: 1 A-10: 1 West Coast: 1 C-USA: 1
  5. So, the biggest round 2 upset was a 5 seed over a 4 seed. Also the only round 2 upset.
  6. That's pretty ignorant, unless your definition of stunk is "anything outside of perfection". I think his definition of stunk is "anything the Big Ten does." I mean, I'm fully in agreement that Illinois stunk. Sure, they were playing without their senior starting PG and still made a game of it when they woke up, but for 37 minutes, they stunk. Minnesota? Stunk (and probably the most questionable BT selection). If Michigan stunk, then I guess they stunk less than Clemson. The Purdue game was the opposite of the Illinois game. They owned about 37 minutes of the game, and then let it get interesting at the end.
  7. The Big Ten still stinks because it was supposed to go 2-2 and went 2-2? Yes. It was supposed to stink and it has stunk. That's pretty ignorant, unless your definition of stunk is "anything outside of perfection".
  8. :(
  9. Don't think I'll be able to watch much sports the rest of this week.
  10. Open pondering: the Illini have gone into full-court press 4 times to get back into games, and it worked for 3 of them (well, they got back into the games 3 times). Why not do that for the rest of the freaking game?!?
  11. As frustrating as they've been in their Illini careers, Meacham, Frazier and Brock will be missed next year, at least early on.
  12. Yes it is, UCLA won.
  13. If anything, I'm most pissed about the complete lack of energy and hustle the Illini showed tonight. I'm just glad they didn't play a really good team.
  14. The Bulls have the pieces to be a good team now, and the roster at this point in the year is much better constructed than it was 3 weeks ago. However, they don't look like they have any sort of offensive or defensive game plan, and that really reflects poorly on coaching. This team can beat anybody at home and lose to anybody on the road, which to me indicates that they live off crowd support and officiating more than any concrete game plan.
  15. I'm sitting at 4/7 right, which goes to show that probability and statistics really mean little in these things. :)
  16. Looks as if Cal will be the first major conference team to lose in the tournament.
  17. Dangerously close to 0-3 so far. Stupid Butler.
  18. Florida State got a 5 seed. That was a team that beat by Northwestern, a team in our league, that's not in the tournament.
  19. I have 4 Big Ten teams in the sweet 16, which I know is too high. I have 4 Big East teams in the sweet 16, which I am expecting to be too low.

  21. So...new thread for the NCAA tournament discussion, or shall we continue adding to this behemoth? :)
  22. I'm not convinced he'd be any better than Vasher. Take that as you will.
  23. How many teams have beaten the Celtics, Cavs and Magic this year? Any of them lose to Washington and OK City?
  24. The best things that have happened to the Bears this offseason has been addition by subtraction. JSC signing elsewhere, Tait retiring, Booker released, etc.
