  2. Trying to stop Derrick Rose is a good strategy that has never been employed before.
  3. Rasual Butler!
  4. Playing the HOF game is a positive IMO. Gives the Bears an extra week of camp (assuming there is a full camp) to work with what better be a completely revamped offensive line. Gives Cutler 1 more week with his WRs. The London game as a road game works too, because the Bears will undoubtedly have many more fans at the game than Tampa.
  5. It's also going to make him less likely to be able to play ML 2nd base.
  6. Chargers select OT/OG Orlando Franklin, Miami
  7. Giving up an almost HR to Bourn is bad enough. Giving up a HR to Angel Sanchez is ridiculously poor coaching.
  8. Who do you guy like better between LeMahieu and Flaherty? LeMahieu seems to be a better hitter, but has shown no power. Flaherty seems to have some pop, but also has problems making contact. How do they compare defensively? Both look to be tall and rangy, does DJ project to hit for any power eventually? And lastly, are either able to be ready to be ML 2B by next year? Sooner?
  9. You spelled SAFETY wrong. ??? Aaron Williams can play CB in the NFL if he's in the right system. He can play CB in the Tampa 2 scheme IMO for the Bears... Not one of my favorite players. I think he could play in the Cover 2, but I still don't want to draft him.
  10. there was just no point in me having both sandoval and mcgehee on the same team, since neither has eligibility other than 3B. i figured i'd just dump mcgehee and get a prospect for him. and so begins my rebuilding mode! might just put half my roster on the trading block and see what offers i get. I should have taken the offer for McGehee. I didn't know NCCF had one too, so I offered Freese to him because I would have had to cut him (or someone else) otherwise.
  11. YES
  12. I'm going to assume the Cards will listen to Fitz and bring in an established QB with either McNabb, Kolb, Bulger, or Flynn. And they'll develop John Skelton in the meantime. So, Cards pass on QB again and help out what was a pretty dismal OL last year. Cards select Benjamin Ijalana, OT/OG Villanova.
  13. If you go by the draft pick trade chart, the only way to get a 2nd AND 3rd would be to trade into the mid-40s or later, or throw in a pick on your end like a 1st and 5th for a 2nd and 3rd. I would rather not trade for picks in 2012. With a good draft, the Bears can take the next step this year. Hopefully, by 2012, the only needs will be a franchise LT and the rest will be depth. Ideally, I'd like to get a 2nd and 3rd without giving up any picks, but I don't know if I want to wait until 45-50 for the first pick. I'd take a trade for a pick in the 30s and an early 4th rounder (still in the top 110 picks) over giving up a pick on our end.
  14. I think IU fans are going to have to wait a year for a fun season. Hulls took a huge step forward from Frosh to Soph, but they are going to need Oladipo and/or Sheehey to do the same. Jones is going to have to take better shots and make better decisions with the ball (and Crean's going to have to take the ball out of his hands). Watford is going to have to continue to get stronger, but unless he learns to jump higher, he has limited upside to his game. And I don't expect Creek to do much, if anything. Having another big will help a lot, but the other 2 Zeller's weren't huge contributors as freshmen. Of course, they didn't have to be on their teams. Hopefully, Crean can show he can coach inside players and get some inside-out game going w/ Zeller and Watford, kicking from the post to the shooters on the wing.
  15. To be fair, it was reported that Holliday was GOING on the DL for a few days. Seems like an honest mistake.
  16. Hill will just get credited with calling a great game and be given the starting catching spot because of is great work with the pitching staff.
  17. If this is the lineup, I'd just as soon put Barney at #2 (let him bunt all day if someone's on base) rather than having him, Hill and Cashner back-to-back-to-back. Fukudome, Barney, Castro, Ramirez, Colvin, Byrd, Soriano, Hill, Cashner
  18. Steelers select Brandon Harris, CB Miami. Justin Houston doesn't fit a need at OLB. Steelers need someone opposite Ike Taylor, and may need to replace Ike as he is a free agent, whenever that happens.
  19. I thought strongly about Harris at that pick - it was between Harris and Marsh - but liked the upside of Marsh a little more. Plus, the Ravens were looking at bigger corners last year (Chris Cook for sure), so I thought the little bit of added size to Marsh would appeal to the Ravens as well. I could easily see them taking either there, though. I'll make the Jets pick here in a minute. If anybody has input, I'd take it. I'm thinking maybe Harris if Cromartie bolts. They just picked a CB in the first last year. Don't know that they'd do back-to-back. I'd go for a 5-technique. I'm sure they're interested in Wilkerson, who just went.
  20. I knew Marsh defended and played well against Pettis against Boise this year, but didn't realize Utah State also play OU and San Diego State. That's an impressive list of receivers he's had to deal with. If he is polished enough to come in and play significant snaps as a rookie, then I like him even more. Him really catching on at the senior bowl and combine were good signs for him, but I still considered him a guy still learning the position. Given his inexperience at corner, I kind of figured he'd be a nickel guy to start out and then within a year or two he'd replace either Wilson or Carr - but if he's more developed than I'd heard, he could step in for one more immediately. He's definitely still learning the position, so he has considerabe upside. He does need to hit the weight room a little, but I don't think he's completely raw and has to be redshirted as a rookie. He's a great athlete. And you can't coach 6'1".
  21. Yeah, Wilkerson would be my pick. Better than Paea, bigger need than CB and WR. Ijalana's a reach.
  22. They are taking whoever they feel is the best player. Sorry, that's a vague response, but it's true. If I had to place a bet, I would guess either OLB on the other side of Matthews (Brooks Reed, Akeem Ayers if he's there) or a DE (Cam Heyward, Muhammad Wilkerson if he's there). But I could also see them picking OT, CB, WR, or a longshot of RB (if Ingram falls or they really like LeShoure/Ryan Williams).
  23. Interesting pick. I actually think Marsh is as ready to play as anyone. Not saying he's going to be at a probowl level as a rookie like McCourty, but he won't kill you on the field his 1st year. His level of competition is actually stronger than it gets credit for. This year, he faced Ryan Broyles of OU (2012 1st round pick), Vincent Brown of SD St. who's going to be a 3rd-4th rounder this year, Greg Salas for Hawaii another mid rounder this year, and faced Boise St with Austin Pettis and Titus Young a couple of 2nd-3rd round picks. Plus, Fresno St, Nevada, and San Jose St all have dynamic pass offenses. Can't vouch for how well he did in all those games, but the senior bowl and combine invites show that he caught a lot of attention this year,.
  24. Chargers select Cameron Jordan, DE California
