  1. Pomeranz was a good story, but that story has reached its conclusion.
  2. Definitely time to pull Cade. Absolutely no need for him to come out for the 6th.
  3. Why is Montreal never even on the list anymore? I would much rather see a team there than any of those other choices, with the possible exception of Nashville.
  4. That is what I thought too, but at least with the Bears podcast yesterday, it was apparently recorded the day before. They were reacting to "breaking news" of Bears roster decisions that came from the day before. So I'm really not sure if they are recording in the morning or the prior afternoon. Maybe they will do the Bears podcast a day ahead and then the regular podcast the morning of. I don't know. But I would really like to see them move toward live streaming at some point.
  5. Turns out a left handed bum reliever is still a bum reliever.
  6. I'm jealous. I keep looking at the falling ticket prices and thinking "maaaaaaybe we can make last minute arrangements"... but probably not gonna happen
  7. But what if you put the ump kid in Mccovey cove? Now we're on to something.
  8. I have been listening this week. I'm sure it will take a bit of time for things to settle in, but my observations so far are: It is really nice to hear Dan and Matt together again. Love him or hate him, we all know who Dan is at this point, but he is still one of the most interesting hosts in Chicago sports. I'm having a bit of a hard time reconciling the difference between radio and podcasts. This new format "feels" like a radio show, but is significantly shorter. And part of it feeling like a radio show, it is really weird to me that it isn't live. I'm so used to radio broadcasts talking about news in real time and I still haven't adjusted to the fact that these episodes are pre-recorded. I wonder if there is any consideration for them to move to a live format at some point. I also don't love the idea of multiple different shows being released on the same day. There is the standard Dan Bernstein Unfiltered show, but then also Forward Progress for Bears talk. They also talk about the Bears on the other show, so you have one show that talks a lot about the Bears and another show that talks only about the Bears. I get why they did it. There are probably a lot of people that might listen to a dedicated Bears podcast that wouldn't be interested in listening to a more general "Dan Bernstein podcast." But it does make for a bit of a confusing separation of content.
  9. I'm too lazy to go look it up right not, but the Cubs have been terrible for awhile now in the first game of a series. I have no idea if that means anything, but they are starting almost every series in an 0-1 hole.
  10. Out of all the 2016 former Cubs moving on to other teams and facing the Cubs, this one feels the strangest by far.
  11. I don't disagree with the premise, but "occasionally"? Dan is frequently insufferable, but it makes for entertaining radio when/if there is someone to counterbalance him. The podcast format will be important. If it is largely Dan solo, that might be a tough listen.
  12. They definitely are. Spiegel and Holmes are ok, but the rest of the Score lineup is a slog.
  13. Considering Tucker played today, that would be retroactive to tomorrow.
  14. There are absolutely refunds for any games not played (like there were with COVID).
  15. I don't think so though, because they aren't taking any additional money up front. At least not that I have been able to discern. 2027 Season Tickets will still be paid for ahead of the 2027 season, regardless of whether it's part of a 3 year contract or an annual renewal. I just have a hard time with the concept of a 3 year contract. Major life events happen, so how can I really justify committing 3 years ahead for an unecessary luxury/entertainment item?
  16. I just received my 2025 playoff ticket invoice, which also now includes a 3-year Season Ticket renewal option to guarantee "access to purchase" 2027 All-Star week tickets. I'm not entirely sure how the 3-year contract works, but I don't know that I'm comfortable locking myself into that type of an arrangement.
  17. Alright, now get the win tomorrow. 5 games back with the tiebreaker in hand, the division could still be in play.
