  1. He does, but it is $9M. Jed has shown us his approach to building a bullpen, and paying middle/setup type relievers $9M isn't it.
  2. I guess they figure they don't need the extra bat with the expanded rosters, but it would be nice to have Caissie in the lineup while Tucker is out.
  3. I know he was doing pre and post coverage for awhile, but what is his current role?
  4. I realize Mark Grace has had his fair share of issues over the years, but the Cubs did bring him back to induct him into their Hall of Fame in 2023. What I find odd is he has been rarely seen since then. For example, at this past weekend's ceremony: Now, maybe Grace had an issue with Sosa that could explain why he wasn't there yesterday, but he wasn't there in 2024 for Kerry Wood and Aramis Ramirez either: And I don't recall seeing or hearing from him when Ryno died either, despite the two apparently being somewhat close (I think Dunston made reference to Grace having talked to Sandberg over the phone toward the end). The last time I saw him was at Spring Training in Arizona, where he made an appearance along with Sandberg and Dunston. So what is the deal with Grace and the Cubs? I have to assume the Cubs invite all their Hall of Famers to these types of events, so why is Grace the only one who is consistently not there? Does he not like leaving Arizona, or is he unable to leave Arizona for legal reasons or otherwise? Does he simply not want to be there? Or do the Cubs not want him there? I have no idea which of those options it might be, but his frequent absences have caught my attention over recent years.
  5. That is what they are, a 500ish team that is being propped up by a hot start. Whether they will lose in the first round... Probably? But you never know. Strange things happen in the playoffs.
  6. New worst loss of the year. This team has had some BAD losses.
  7. I thought we were going to lose him nearly a decade ago. I'm glad that he bounced back, but it definitely sounds like he has been through a lot since then. I was kind of hoping to hear them talk some current sports, but there was barely any of that since Terry said he doesn't watch sports anymore. It's crazy how guys like him and Rozner got out of the business and then stopped following sports altogether. Anyway, I wish the best for Terry. He seems like a really good guy and someone who is very well respected by his former peers.
  8. The Cubs sure do seem to be getting thrown out stealing an awful lot lately.
  9. He did a really nice job. Not the most exciting broadcaster voice, but he did a more than adequate job technically. He called the game well without trying to do too much. Zach Zaidman could learn a thing or two from him.
  10. I'm sure the reason has been given multiple times already, but why is PCA sitting again tonight?
  11. You know there have been more than a handful of off-mic conversations between them about why they can't just call the damn game.
  12. Hopefully just precautionary and he'll be back in the lineup in a day or two. If it's anything more than that, give him a rest on the IL and get Caissie back up here.
  13. Matt Shaw definitely doesn't have a strong arm, but he's getting really good at that quick bounce throw.
  14. It sucks that Willie Castro has gone from a guy we wanted to see in the lineup every day to keep everyone fresh to a guy that is almost unplayable.
  15. If anyone is keeping score of Jed's trade deadline acquisitions. It is 1 pretty good and 3 complete disasters. Not great, Jed.
  16. Real good work by Civale today to both eat innings and keep the game within reach.
  17. Coincidentally, that is the exact amount he is worth.
  18. Not really sure how that's an overturn. Regardless, that's an extremely dumb play down 2 runs.
