  1. Not sure which is which but the color guy is already incredibly annoying.
  2. I have no idea if this is what you were actually doing, but that's my idea of a party. There's something incredibly satisfying about completing a clean cable run.
  3. Cleveland won the AL Central by going 14 games over .500 with a -6 run differential.
  4. I recorded the game and am watching now. Who at CBS thought it was a good idea to have the down and distance flash yellow on the score overlay every time it updates? Every damn time that happens I think there is going to be a flag on the play. Any color but yellow people.
  5. Virtually impossible.
  6. I don't love the playoff scheduling, but I understand why it was done that way. As a fan, I would prefer multiple games overlapping in prime time, but that would splinter the viewers. It is just the unfortunate reality that any time the Yankees and Dodgers are playing, everyone else is going to take a back seat in scheduling. I hope one or both of those series are done in 2 games so the Cubs can play in the evening if they go to a 3rd game.
  7. Ballasteros appears to be passable behind the plate?
  8. Not surprising, but that sucks. I sold my Game 1 and 2 tickets because I wouldn't be able to get off work, and I'm pretty sure both days are full of meetings so I'll probably barely be able to watch/listen.
  9. Kittredge is making the 2026 option decision interesting. Initially, I thought it was a foregone conclusion that the Cubs would let him walk and reload the bullpen again with cheaper options. But I dont know now, is he actually worth the $9M?
  10. I also hate challenge systems, but if this is a stepping stone to an inevitable fully automated strike zone, I'm all for that. I can live with a few seasons of challenges until everyone is comfortable implementing the system across the board.
  11. I didn't realize until today that Roschon Johnson is no longer on the injured list and has been active the last week or two. How is it possible that a healthy Roschon Johnson is a worse option than Kyle Monangai at RB? Johnson may very well still be bad, but he and his big rubber helmet can't be as bad as a slow, undersized 7th round pick.
  12. I rarely listen to ESPN radio anymore, but not too long ago I recall him having a "Jim Rome minute" audio blurb that would get played every day. I assume that was in addition to some type of syndicated radio show somewhere, but I'm not sure.
  13. He did, and I agree there are bigger things to worry about right now, but I will continue to argue that Shaw's current approach at the plate is not sustainable. He is selling out to try to make hard contact and his feet are all over the place. He is going to occasionally run into some hits, but he is still very much a work in progress at the plate.
  14. I would swap Horton and Boyd just to give Horton that extra day for whatever his minor back issue is. Boyd, then Horton, then take your pick of Taillon or Imanaga for Game 3. It looks like it may cool off in Chicago mid next week, so Imanaga could become more pitchable if the wind is likely to be blowing in.
  15. Yes, he hit a home run last night, but that can happen even with a horsefeathers approach at the plate. He looks terrible.
  16. I never thought I would want Taillon starting playoff games, but here we are.
  17. Matt Shaw looks awful at the plate. So much movement in his lower body. It looks like he's on roller skates.
  18. I was listening to an old episode of The Run podcast yesterday and had a completely random Cubs thought. With the 10th anniversary of the World Series coming up next year, and the inevitable reunions that will take place in future years, do you think Addison Russell will ever be invited back by the Cubs? Or is he forever persona non grata? I get why people wouldn't WANT him back, especially this soon, but will the passage of time be enough for him to eventually show his face in the city again?
  19. Matt Shaw sucks just for bringing these conversations into the game thread.
