  1. Boyd is good, but he's not "start on 3 days rest" good. The Cubs could have started Rea and then had their rested rotation lined up for the rest of the series. Even losing game 1, they would have been in decent shape going forward. Now they are going to lose Game 1 and they put themselves in a less than ideal position pitching-wise. Starting Boyd was a mistake, and an avoidable one.
  2. Did they just say the Brewers lead in infield hits and unearned runs? Is that a polite way of saying they are lucky?
  3. Counsell's body language is not great. He knows he screwed up.
  4. This is going great. Unforced error starting Boyd today.
  5. I heard @Jason Ross mention this on the postgame reaction stream, but I have a hard time believing that to be the case. Maybe my brain just cant unsee the K-Zone, but that pitch looks clearly low..
  6. So how does this work with Cade Horton? Let's just say hypothetically he is feeling good and able to come back for Game 5. The Cubs can't just activate him for Game 5, can they? Wouldn't there have to be a corresponding injury for him to replace?
  7. We have a Disney trip planned that lines up almost exactly with the World Series. My ONLY chance of attending a game would be Game 1 if the Cubs are at home, so I'll be rooting hard for the winner of Seattle/Detroit. I think my wife is secretly hoping the Cubs lose so it doesn't hijack our focus at Disney, but she won't admit that. I can't say I didn't warn her.
  8. My 12 year old son was spent by the end of the 9th inning tonight. We had to explain to him what 2016 was like... pretty much that same level of stress, but almost every night for an entire month. Let's do that again.
  9. It was nice to see Tucker get a few more hits, and hopefully he can keep that up, but it is still concerning to have him in the middle of the order with no slug and station to station (at best) on the bases.
  10. Just looking at the full schedule for NLDS/ALDS - Assume an early to mid afternoon game Saturday and an early evening game Monday. Games 3 and 4 at Wrigley will most likely be afternoon for Game 3 and early evening again for Game 4.
  11. I haven't ever been the biggest fan of Taillon, but he is their best starter right now. He has looked outstanding the last few weeks.
  12. I still think Nico was safe at home, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over a bad strike call.
  13. If a call stands because they can't definitely make a determination, the challenging team really shouldn't lose their challenge.
  14. Of course they are, and I absolutely expect Miller to pitch unless it is a blowout one way or the other.
  15. What you guys are doing is great by the way. I was only able to watch for a couple minutes after yesterday's game, but non-Marquee local postgame coverage is something I've wanted for awhile, especially when driving home from the ballpark after The Score quickly switches over to syndicated programming.
  16. Come on Red Sox, win this game so we can play at 5 or later tomorrow night.
  17. The difference is we know Tucker hasn't been physically right for months. I don't think anyone would be pining to replace a healthy Tucker just because he's slumping, but this isn't a healthy Tucker. There isn't any reason to believe he is suddenly going to flip the Seiya switch, since he probably isn't healthy enough to do that. No, the Cubs won't replace him. But I get why people would suggest it.
