  1. Unbelievable
  2. Flaherty is a mess out there.
  3. Just pull the bat back and hit it through the infield... No problem.
  4. How is that a hit by pitch? First of all, it hit the bat. But even if it didn't, how is it allowed to stick your finger in front of the bat and let the ball hit it? That ball would only hit his hand because he didn't bunt it properly, not any fault of the pitcher.
  5. You know who doesn't love it? Rob Manfred. Game too long!
  6. Real extra innings baseball is fantastic.
  7. Whatever happens in Game 5, the Cubs put up a good fight and made things interesting. It has been a good run.
  8. I like to go against the grain. Drink it in defiance (and because it's good).
  9. It's gonna be a late night and a long day tomorrow. I made the mistake of taking today off work instead of tomorrow. I'm not feeling overly confident about this one... I do think Boyd is going to come back strong and keep the Cubs in the game. But can they score enough?
  10. The broadcasters really wanted Kershaw to be a good story, but he has nothing left.
  11. And they don't care that the West Coast ratings will be substantially lower at 3:00? I would be interested to see how that math actually works out.
  12. I still can't quite figure out why the Dodgers are playing at 5:00 tomorrow and the Cubs are playing at 8:00 (if the Phillies win tonight). Why would you play two games at 3:00 and 8:00 local times rather than flip them and play at 5:00 and 6:00 local time?
  13. I should probably know this but, is there a rule about teams announcing their starting pitchers a certain amount of time before the game? Or can they wait all the way up until gametime? Is it just a courtesy for them to announce the pitchers in advance? And what if they don't? What happens in the scenario where neither manager makes their lineup public until they exchange lineup cards? Can they both go back and forth making changes to counter the other lineup? I have no idea why I'm going down this rabbit hole of a hypothetical scenario that never happens.
  14. Boyd for game 4. Game 5 is probably a bullpen game all hands on deck.
  15. No, it shouldn't. You don't pull your best hitter when this game could come down to him batting in the bottom of the 9th.
  16. 2... more.... innings. I feel like we're hanging off the edge of the cliff and down to 1 finger still gripping the ledge.
  17. So let's say optimistically that Kittredge survive the 8th. How are we possibly going to get 2 innings out of a shaky Keller and the rest of the remaining pen?
  18. Do we know, if the Cubs win today and Dodgers beat the Phillies, would tomorrow's game time be moved up at all?
  19. You would have to take away a whole lot more than his jump shot to get to Pete Myers.
