Yet it continues to happen every year to some degree. Something needs to change in the roster construction, but with almost everyone still under contract I'm not sure things are going to look much different next season.
Whatever happens, we went from looking like the Brewers were going to make quick work of the series after Game 2 and ended up in a nailbiter of a Game 5. It would suck to lose, but I'm at peace with any outcome.
I worry about Palencia having thrown so much and having been relied on for several multi-inning appearances. Hopefully he can get through this 1 more inning.
I would have loved for Rae to completely shut the Brewers down, but you really can't complain about getting nearly 3 innings of 1 run ball from the #5 starter/long relief guy.
There was a time last year, or even earlier this season, where Palencia's control would have been an issue in that situation. But he has been great lately with the ability to come in and throw strikes.
