  1. If Tom/Jed want justification to hide behind when they don't make Tucker a serious offer, he is giving that to them right now.
  2. Tucker looks like he is out in front of everything. His swings are almost all arms.
  3. There's your bottom of the lineup picking up the slack again.
  4. Over/under 4 years before the Cubs eclipse his contract for another player? I might go with the over.
  5. I take no joy in that. I would rather have them be mowing guys down and make Jed look like (more of) a fool.
  6. They should be. Their team is, rather inexplicably, playing incredible baseball with no sign of letting up.
  7. That was as good an assumption as any. Because I still can't tell you why they are good.
  8. Or a stroke of evil genius to announce it at the perfect time for it to be buried in the news cycle.
  9. Steal the horsefeathers base instead of bouncing around over there. This team is maddening.
  10. I'm sure that has happened many times before, but I can't recall one.
  11. Hey, that may be 2 more innings than those prospects ever give anyone! Who is to say it was a bad deal?
  12. Infield single followed by a check swing double down the line. That happens to the Brewers too, right?
  13. Nice job Jed. Could you have foreseen the injury? No. Do you deserve it for your half-assed approach to the trade deadline? Absolutely.
  14. As much as I love Wrigley Field, I'm tired of this wind blowing in horsefeathers. Is there any other ballpark that plays so unfair to hitters on a regular basis? Maybe it's not so bad on average and gets partially offset by the wacky wind blowing out days, but that doesn't tell the whole story.
  15. I had that card as a kid. I think I bought it at a flea market for like $20 or $30, which at the time was a really expensive card. Then I mailed it in for an autograph and never saw it again. I was devastated. Knowing what I know now about Sandberg, I'm sure it never even got to him. I eventually ended up getting the slightly cheaper Fleer rookie card as a replacement, and only recently got another Topps card when my wife bought one for me as a gift a few years ago.
  16. Was that ball hit 137 mph like it looked to be?
  17. PCA is pressing big time. Gotta get him out of the cleanup spot.
  18. Hi hum, just another home run lost to the wind.
  19. You're not going to believe this, but the wind is blowing... in.
