Too bad Hendry can't void Neifi's deal and dump his useless butt. The only reason to keep him was to help recruit his "friend" Furcal. Now that he's failed at that he's a waste of a roster spot.

Baker and Perez are on Bakers boat right now laughing as we speak.

Maybe he wanted to win?

If he did, he went to the wrong place. L.A. isn't winning anything anytime real soon.

Other then its about 50 degrees warmer in the off season.

OK, 60 degrees.

Late fall/winter isn't exactly a good time to recruit people to come to Chicago.

It's possible, but I'm pretty sure it boiled down to money.

Or maybe he visited chicago on a really cold day and said this isn't for me, LA is much warmer, and I can hang out with people like Jamie Fox and bruce Willis.

or it could be the money.

An organization that has not had the confidence to extend the contracts of its leadership is not sending a message of continuity. Again, I'm not encouraging an extension at this point, but I think at the end of last season they should have either been extended or fired.

Everything else aside, exactly HOW are the Dodgers of all teams better than us in that department?

Sure it's the money, but honestly we offered him more guaranteed cash so that can't have been the whole story.

I just think he took a look at us and decided we aren't a team that is positioned for success in the near future. I mean come on folks, LOOK AT US. We're heading downward.

It was the money and the 3 years from the Dodgers. The short contract gives him the opportunity to seek a second FA BIG payday. If the Cubs had offered 14MM/year for 3 years I think he would have signed.

Next time around he'll probably opt for the long term deal
