well, the illini win unconvincingly again, and this time at the AH against a somewhat decent hoya team.

this team has no go-to scorer, although jamar smith reminds me of luther head as an upperclassman at this point.

to the illini's credit, georgetown DID have a very large dude in the middle who was blocking a ton of shots, and they did a good job of getting the ball inside, finishing was their problem.

9-0. GU beat Oregon at Oregon so that should be another winnable game. Hopefully Dee can snap out of his shooting slump soon.

Brown has been absolutely abysmal shooting this year. If he were producing at last year's levels they'd be fine.

I was hoping we would get him back... this team won't make it past the second round.

I hate the NCAA, hypocritical pricks.

I have no love for UK, but that is BS on the part of the NCAA. They should just get rid of the "test the waters" rule altogether IMO.

But he went beyond "testing the waters" when the agency set up the workouts and received the feedback from teams. Also there was around $7,000 of expenses that he needed to pay for upfront if he was following the rules.

A whole season seems a bit extreme but he has no but himself and whomever he listened to for this.

Brown was a player that really benefitted from the presence of Deron and Luther. I'm not sure he's the kind of guy who can really shoulder the load. As a result, I'm not sure how good the Illini really are. Right now they remind me a bit of KUs team last year, some good players who were much better when surrounded by lotto picks like Hinrich/Gooden/Collison.

Don't get me wrong. The Illini are still a good team, but I'm not sure how good, and I'm inclined to think by season's end they'll be a bit lower in the polls.

i agree. i think this is a sweet sixteen team based on defense alone, though.

yep and anything past that would be gravy. I do think though that part of Brown's problem is that he isn't 100% yet and as a result he isn't playing nearly as well as he was. As for the Kansas remark, that sure isn't what all Kansas fans were screaming about there guys last year. Miles was a McDAA, Simien is an NBA player, and Giddens was the best sg in highschool of his class not named LeBron. I think Dee will play much better as his foot continues to heal and Jamar SMith continues to knock down more shots.

Right, and the KU fans who thought we were good enough last year were wrong (although Simien is an NBA player). That talent wasn't good enough to stand on its own. Much like yours this year, I suspect.

For the record, I don't know why any honest criticism of UI has to be met with a slam on KU. Kind of weak, IMO.

Sorry I am not trying to slam KU, I thought you guys had good pieces last year. I thought you would get to UNC in your draw. I think that Roy was killing you guys still though as it is rumored he was still talking to all of the guys he coached there. Which if true is just messed up, if he wanted to coach those guys so bad he could have stayed with them. I really think the team you guys had last year was an elite eight type team that didn't buy into their coach. So if our guys buy into our caoch and we make an elite eight I would be pretty happy. That said I am hoping for a sweet 16 and anything after that would be gravy.

Killingsworth MUST keep turnovers to a minimum, and it would be nice if Strickland showed up today. When is White expected back?

I agree with you on some level there. I thought we'd get to UNC (and get smoked). But I don't really blame Roy too much. Him calling his old players shouldn't have been enough to throw of the team. It probably didn't help Self connect with those guys, though.

A decent win today for KU over a Cal team withn a misleading record (they're 6-2 now, but they really haven't played anyone.) Still, I'll take what I can get.

Go UT.

JJ Redick would be a great addition to the Bulls next year. I doubt he'll make it out of the lottery though.

A. We have the Knicks' first-rounder, and they'll almost assuredly be in the lottery.

B. We might not make it out of the lottery either. :(

Rondo still needs a shot, I have been less than impressed with this UK team all Fall.

Did they just say that Killingsworth has good hands? He may be quick, but he does not have good hands IMO.

I think they expect White to play some in the next game @ Charlotte. They have 9 days off after today. If not then, he should be back after Christmas. It hurts not to have him now, but I think the extra minutes will go a long way in Ben Allen's development.

Like I said earlier, worst team in almost 15 years. Tubby deserves blame, being the classiest coach in the game sometimes doesn't translate to the most productive.

I don't want him canned, but this team sucks right now, blows, they've played like crap all year. I'm terribly angry at his lifeless group.

7 years is too damn long. They had the best recruiting class last year in the nation and none have progressed.

Don't worry. As long as Mike Davis is on the opposite bench to fail to make adjustments, Kentucky will have a chance.

Oh, yeah. Most classiest?
