Well that sucked. Time to get ready for 06. Hopefully Hendry will right the ship and us Northsiders will be celebrating soon.

Our day will come.

I predict 0-162.

Cautiously I'll take the over

 Thanks for providing a laugh on this miserable day.

My laughs are coming from the local news showing the 50 or so people outside celebrating the WS win, if the Sox think this is turning the city into a Sox town they have another thing coming.

Well Jabroni since you signed offline so quickly, I'll post my reply here as you are sure to be checking "Jesus Jabroni, when the White Sox win the world series the first thing you do is check nsbb!!!!"

I really meant that post more of an observation than a knock of the sox. IMO its really really sad

The key thing is that it's over, and now Hendry's allowed to make some moves. Yes it sucks, but at least it ended quickly.

Well......

If the Red Sox won in 2004 and the last time they won it was 1918

If the White Sox won it in 2005 and the last time they won it was 1917....

then.... supersticiously...... THE CUBS ARE NEXT!!!!

Funny, I was at the Nickel Creek concert lastnight and the leader of the band said the same thing as rational as to why hes rooting for the sox.

I am going to go out on a limb and say next year won't be our year.

And I am going to the XTreme, and say 2006 will be the year of the Cubs.

Another way to look at it optimistically: Historically, 100% of the White Sox World Championships have been followed by the Cubs at least making the World Series the very next year. 1906, Sox win the World Series; 1907, Cubs win the World Series. 1917, Sox win the World Series; 1918, Cubs make the World Series (although they lose to the Red Sox). 2005, Sox win the World Series; 2006 :?:

Another way to look at it is the Cubs had their chance in 2003  ...... whatever the case im not making any predictions on them until after I see what they do in f/a and if Wood/Prior both come into spring training healthy.

I heard a while back that everytime the Indians have made the WS the Yankees have won it the next season. But I'm not sure if its true and I don't care enough to check.

A twenty second check via Baseball Reference says it's not.

Indians made the WS in 1954, losing to the NY Giants, and the Brooklyn Dodgers won the 1955 WS.

And the Indians made the WS in 1920, losing to the Brooklyn Robins, and the New York Giants won the 1921 WS.

The Indians have made the WS three other times (54, 95, 97) and the Yankees won in the following seasons.

So New York teams always win the year after the Indians make the WS, but not necessarily the Yankees.

Cleveland won the '20 WS, 5-2

They also went to the WS in 1948, beating the Boston Braves.

In every year following a Cleveland appearance in the WS, the New York Yankees appeared in the World Series.

1921 lost to New York Giants

1949 defeated Brooklyn

1955 lost to Brooklyn

1996 defeated Atlanta

1998 defeated San Diego.
