I'm more or less indifferent here. I'm still hoping the Angels get by the Yankees and win the whole damn thing again.

Indifferent signing in as very much not indifferent. Chalk one resounding vote up for the Cards!

I got a Houston to win NL Pennant 2005 ticket in my wallet that I got last year.

At what odds, might I ask?

My disdain for the Astros is much stronger than that for the Cards. I will sleep better at night knowing that "class acts" such as Biggio never won a title.

That being said, I likely won't watch more than 3 innings of the whole thing.

I totally agree. I hate the Cards, but at least their fans show up at the ballpark every day (not just for the playoffs and the days Rocket pitches), and aren't fickle, fair weather chumps who make themselves scarce when their team isn't doing so well.

Right or wrong, I guess much of my perception of other teams depends on their fans. And that being the case, I can at least respect most Cards fans. I can't say the same of most Astros fans.

I'm hoping for a White Sox choke. Something like up 3 games to 1 in game 5 bottom of the ninth up by 4 runs and they blow it. Then they lose the last 2 games.

I'm rooting for a Sox vs. Astros series. You'll either have a team who hasn't won since 1918, or a team who hasn't won ever. All differences with those clubs aside, at least a good baseball story will come of it (instead of, say, Yankees with their 24242th title)

I live in Western KY, which is still Cardinal country. I know a lot of Card's fans, but no Astros fans. As such, I guess I'm for the 'Stros just so I don't have to listen to any gloating.

However, I don't really care. The good news is one of them will lose. I don't want to talk about the bad news.

Agree 100% with both of you. Having lived in Houston for some time a couple years back, I was able to witness firsthand the Astros' fan base. It is generally a very laissez faire group that only shows up when it counts. I get the impression they are very similar to the Dodgers fans in L.A. That being said I'd like to see the Cards win the NL then be bounced by any team out of the AL not named the Yankees. Come on Angels!!!

The only team left in the playoffs that would be acceptable for me is the Angels. And I guess that all hinges on tonight's game anyway. Between the Cards and Stros, though, I think I pick the Astros. The Cards are, in general, a class act, but I really, really can't stand Jim Edmonds. And last year they made me very angry. After running away with the division, they rolled over and played dead for the Astros, effectively handing them the wild card (which is not to say that we didn't do everything in our power to give it away ourselves).

Haven't the dodgers led the NL in attendance for like 20 years in a row? Sure, they arrive late and leave early, but most of them are watching the game at least. But hey, Astros fans cheer when the scoreboard tells them to!

I have to cheer against the Astros because no world series should ever be played in a little league park where you need a yellow line to decide a homerun and you can score five runs on 650 feet of home runs.
