You've never been IM'ed by aparoche aka Jabroni then.

I don't know if I'd use that guy as the template for all Sox fans. I heard he was banned from both WSI and SoxTalk because even they couldn't stand him.

I didn't know they let that guy use a computer from jail

If they want the support of Cubs fans now, perhaps they shouldn't have been badmouthing the Cubs all year long.

No offense, but i doubt that many Sox fans care about support from

cubs fans. They have a little more to think about then support from cubs fans.

Most Sox fans I know wouldn't root for the Cubs under any circumstances, as they would spontaneously combust or melt or something. For Sox fans to appeal to Cubs fans for support is creating a double standard, IMO.

For the record, I would never root for the Sox, and wouldn't expect Sox fans to root for the Cubs. It's just the natural order of things.

They are trying to get some of the Cubs fan base for next year. Get some bandwagon fans to root for a winner then maybe they will buy tickets next year. Comisky wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for all the Sox fans there.

I meant Ozzie & the Sox, not the fans.

It ain't just the Sox fans that make that stadium a crap heap.

Regarding Jabroni...thanks for the warning...I have gotten a few IMs from him and didn't realize who he was...now I have done the sensible thing and blocked him.

I read the Daily Herald story this morning. My favorite part is that he wants Cubs fans to root for the team, but then he says stuff like this. Yeah, way to get Cubs fans to want to support you...

Guillen, however, warns Cubs fans that South Siders approach the postseason a bit differently than their Wrigleyville rivals. For one, there’s no talk of curses.

“Cubs fans blame it on a goat or a kid who caught the ball,” he said. “That’s a weak excuse.”

Though the White Sox have not won a World Series since 1917, Guillen says the team isn’t cursed. He contends the 88-year drought is a reflection of poor talent, not black magic.

“It’s not a curse,” he said. “It’s horse (excrement) teams.”

Yet White Sox fans talk about the Cubs' 2003 collapse like it was their (Sox fans') World Series... no, they don't root for us and we don't root for them.

The result of the Angels-Yankees game is all that keeps the playoffs from being over for me. If the Yankees win, I'm not watching any more baseball until spring training.

I usually try to be objective about baseball, but I have to agree with the majority here. Die-hards aren't going to be lining up to buy Konerko jerseys, and rightfully so. There is a line; that said a White Sox championship would probably be very good for the Cubs in the long run (assuming of course there is some pride to be found in the organization).

If they somehow win the WS they can have their victory parade in Cellular field. Since only about 40,000.00 people will care.

I want them to lose. And I will especially enjoy it if they lose badly.

If they win I will not care. It will just make me dislike them more.

Im shallow I guess.

They hate us. We hate them. Certain things in life are absolute.

I don't think not hating the White Sox if you're a Cub's fan entails buying a white sox jersey or dropping your pants like Steve Lyons. I went to Cubs, Sox, and Brewers games as a kid and had fun at all the games. So maybe i'm a softy because of that. Of course the Cubbies are my team but the only times I really hate the Sox is when we play them. Sox fans have their share of idiots who will blindly bash the Cubs... mainly not because of the team but because of the stereotype of our fans. They're getting their share of bandwagon fans now, so now we can make fun of their fans for wearing pink sox hats. What team doesn't bash our fans? Ever read brewerfan.net?

I guess I will always dislike a team in our division more then one that is not.

If the Sox break their drought then i'll be happy for them... maybe it will motivate the Cub's a little more. Although I thought the Red Sox win would have done the same and I was dead wrong.

If it comes down to the "nightmare" world series scenario... I say go Sox. It's not like i'll be decked out in black... I'll still be a Cub's fan. Sure their fans will give us tons of crap for it if they win but the Cub's just need to see something like that to get motivated.

I think the city of Chicago needs a champion, regardless of who it is

I agree...as long as it's the Cubs or the Bulls.

Although their fans aren't exactly shining examples of class and good sportsmanship, either.
