I have came to the conclusion this year that I really don't care about the playoffs.

There's not really that team you can root for as an underdog besides the Padres, who don't have a prayer.

Any of you guys feel the same way?

I care and I'm a little miffed that all of the teams I want to win are struggling, going 1-5 so far. I'm rooting against the all Central teams, and against the Yankees.

Just once I want to see thr Yankees and Cardinals have a stroke of bad luck at an inopportune moment. It happened to the Yankees with the Rodriguez error last night, so maybe the trend is reversing (I can only hope).

You mean like Carpenter being injured right before the playoffs last year?

Or Rolen missing the playoffs for them a couple of years ago?

Or Rolen & Reyes missing the playoffs this year?

Or Suppan falling asleep on the bases in last year's World Series?

Or Ankiel falling off a cliff in the playoffs a few years ago?

I could go on and on and on........

I'm with you, right now I don't know of one score of one game of the playoffs. On the radio I'll hear "let's go Angels, kick some Yankee rear" every so often but that's about it. Come WS time I may watch some of the games if the teams involved are interesting.

Honestly, I'm much more interested in the Winter Meetings and the Hotstove talk.

I will always watch every game until the last pitch. Baseball will be gone in three weeks, enjoy it while you can. October baseball baby.

I love postseason baseball, but the White Sox have ruined October for me thus far. I have no interest in watching at this point.

Injuries happen to all teams, so those don't count. Player stupidity or psychology isn't bad luck either. Sorry, not feeling you here.

I am interested in the playoffs, but it took until midnight last night for a team I want to win to finally win a game (the Angels).

I'm also growing more and more disgusted with the Red Sox's efforts to ensure a White Sox title. I wonder what the Yankees/Angels will do to help out the Sox? Every other team that's played the Chisox this season has helped them by blowing chances to win left and right so let's see how easy we can make it, right?

That said, I am looking forward to Hot Stove more than the playoffs, but I like baseball in any form, so I watch.

I'm not sure what you want, then. Tarps rolling over players? Horrible umpiring calls?

An error isn't "bad luck". It's bad play. If that's what you're looking for, then look no further than the Cards' bats going south for 4 games against the Red Sox last year.

Living in Yankees country, I just want them not to win the WS...even if it takes the Cardinals to beat them.

Meh, what's one more title for the Yankees? I'm no Yankee fan but it's not like them winning another one's going to make me hate them any more.

I'm indifferent towards most of the playoff teams, but if both the Yankees and Boston lose in the first round (preferably in embarrassing fashion) I'll be happy.

Just takes 1 to send them into full on dynastic boasting mode.

I'm having fun watching the playoffs so I can root against certain teams... Unfortunately, 1 of those teams will most likely wind up winning the WS.

If you lived around armies of Yankees fans, you would know.....they act like overbearing jerks when they don't win a Series, its 1000x's worse when they do.

Mulder just got drilled on the left arm by a comebacker in the 2nd inning. Happy now?

Yet another great reason to live in Chicago. :D

I love the playoffs with or without the Cubs. The atmosphere surrounding each game makes it worth while.

Even though, I'm pulling for the Braves...

The concept of having to face Clemens, Pettitte, and Oswalt potentially 6 times in a 7 game series is very intriguing to me.

I'm rooting for Anaheim and rooting against the Cardinals, White Sox, NY and Red Sox. I'm tired of hearing about how great Theo Epstein is, and watching NY buy their way to the World Series.

It's a pretty sad year for teams to root for. In order of worst to best...

Tier One:

Cardinals

White Sox

Tier Two:

Astros

Yankees

Tier Three:

Braves

Tier Four:

Red Sox (you just won last year!)

Angels (you just won in 2002!)

Tier Five:

Padres (doomed to lose, only question is whether it's in 3 or 4 games)
