espn.com is reporting that Peavy is out the rest of the post season with broken ribs. They're not sure how he did it.

 

The Padres are toast.

 

i don't think they had much of a chance to begin with and if they didn't win today, which of course they didn't, I think many would think the series would probably be over. This is just the icing on the cake for San Diego. Tough break for Peavy :(

Yes, RHP Pedro Astacio (6-10, 4.69 ERA) is San Diego's game 2 starter. Poor Padre fans. LHP Mark Mulder (16-8, 3.64 ERA) for the Cards. The only hope we have is that it's day game (Mulder day games: 2-5, 6.86 ERA, .350 BAA). :D

The question remains, where is Steve Stone? Is he doing the Yankee/Angels series? If not, what is the deal?

 

Considering the crappy announcing that we have had to endure on ESPN, it's a shock to me that Steve Stone has been thus far absent.

Steve Phillips is a moran, "for walker to take an injection to face astacio, he will want to do something big here." Yeah because normally he isn't trying to do positive things. :lol:
