Guys I might really do this. I did a drive by the stadium earlier today. It seems there are many potential places to get in to where the bricks are. The key is getting in there when no one is looking...

Make sure you have a quick as hell escape plan.

Its all surrounded by temporary fencing they installed Monday. The sections just pull apart by lifting off the bases; maybe use wire cutters incase they used tie-wire to attach the sections a little better.

On the LF side, there were guys removing bleachers and tossing them into two dumpsters they had set up there on the street. Another truck was waiting there to deliver another dumpster when I went past.

You can bet that every scrap of bleacher planks, and each and every brick, will be offered for sale to the fans. Its all about the money - you don't think they're going to just pitch all that stuff? Not a chance.

When ND Stadium was rebuilt they sold their bricks. I paid $50 for mine, and it came with a COA. Also Soldier field sold their seats. I have seen the W/L Flags that fly after the games being sold in MLB auctions. Does anyone else know of any stadium pieces that have been sold by it's respective organization?

Oh yea, if there is a brick "borrowing" mission I would pay whatever the going price is.

FYI, WFLD is running a story on the work after the game. I hope I can make it through their Sox crap without smashing my set.

Sethuel and UM, this might be a good multi-person operation. I would definitely be in for some late night covert operations. As for an auction, i dont know how much Tim would be happy with stolen property being sold here.

Guys, my opinion...

Take this discussion offline and delete all posts.

This site is high enough profile where i'm sure someone from the Cubs organization reads it. If something happens - even if it wasn't by you - you bet your azz that the first action of the lawyers will be to subpoena nsbb.com IP logs.

Given that i doubt Tim has deep enough pockets to fight even is he is in the right - talking about this here isn't a good idea - especially with the current state of cyberlaw being the legal equiv of the wild, wild, west.

My 2 cents.

By the way this totally is not going to happen, we are just playing around.

Even so - with current state of legal america (Patriot Act, DMCA, etc) i wouldn't even joke about stuff like this.

Yeah, this woudln't be a good idea at all. But it's fun to play around.

My uncle has a couple of wrigley's box seats that they sold awhile back for some reason. No idea how much he paid.

They sell all the flags that are above the stadium...I remember thinking about buying one of Dawson's once.

Last year I was going on a business trip and my wife packed my suitcase. I check in, check my bag and go all the way through security. I'm talking laptop out of the briefcase, putting my shoes back on and I hear, "Northwest passenger Tom XXXXXX please return to the check in counter."

I grumble, put my shoes back on, repack my briefcase and go back. Get to the counter and the guys asks me to unlock my bag. I tell him it isn't locked. He says okay, and I go my merry way. Back through security, laptop out, shoes off and I hear, "Northwest passenger Tom XXXXXX please return to the check in counter."

Back out, to the counter. Guys asks if it is my bag, I say yes.

"Did you pack it?"

"No, my wife did."

"Did you know you have a FAA banned substance in your bag?"

"No, what"

He lifts up a can of spray starch. "Aerosol cans are banned on airline flights sir."

"Okay, just throw it away."

"I can't do that. We have to turn it over to the FAA. Please go fill out these forms." (Name, address, SS, etc.)

"I'm sorry, I didn't know. Won't happen again."

"If it does, as a repeat offender you may be subject to up to 3 years in prison and a $50,000 fine."

"Yes sir."

And that's how I became the spray starch terrorist. The really annoying thing is that my wife no better than to think I'm going to use spray starch anyway.

Oh well, at least I made my flight - it was delayed. It's nice to know you can count on Northwest for something.

My Mom's bag was searched when they did the "wipe" test on the handles. Turns out she was using lotion that had glycerin in it, it got on the suitcase (naturally) and that gets the Feds' dander up.

Does anyone know if the family section will be rebuilt or is it gone for good?

Gone. It's been a few years since I sat there (thanks to drastic ticket price increases and the Cubs no longer selling them online), but it was always my favorite section. Both the family section and group section will be general admission bleacher seating.
