Dude, we owe it to the fans to try to win every game.

And the kids would at least try unlike the crap they're sending out there now.

Only 3 people? That doesn't seem like much.

West Tenn still has playoffs to deal with, so we won't see any call-ups from them for a while more. We've already seen Cedeno, Murton and Van Buren up before September 1st. The only other guys who are on the 40-man roster in Iowa are Fontenot and Leicester.

Ice had a real tough year, even if hes called up, he probably wouldnt get any time. Although I dont see how it could hurt. Id like to see Fontenot as our 25th guy next year, but Id rather see Nomar and Cedeno than him, plus I dont think we really need to see him hit in sept to decide if hell be a 25th man. But again, i dont see the harm in it.

Fontenot needs to learn to play well enough in AAA before they should even think about bringing him up.

In the majors, Fontenot is 0-2, but he's scored 4 runs. I've always thought that was funny.

Fontenot's .375 OBP looks plenty good to me to be a utility infielder.

Sorry, forgot about Lewis (he has been at many diferent levels), Koronka and Rohlicek. I'm assuming Soto and Mitre will be called up, as stories have mentioned.

Hopefully Koronka and Rohlicek won't be taking up 40-man space much longer.

Add Koronka to the list of players to be called up. From Cubs.com.

The Cubs called up RHP Sergio Mitre and will likely add two more Minor League players, catcher Geovany Soto and pitcher John Koronka.

Hi Everybody, just wanted to say hi and express my gratitude to all the Cub fans out there...you've made me feel like part of the family this year and I can't tell you how excited I am to be here and how much fun I'm having in the booth with Bob. It's been a frustrating year on the field I know, but hopefully the Cubs can finish strong.

Anyway, great site...just wanted to say hello.

Best regards,

Len Kasper

Welcome to our forum, Mr. Kasper. I think I can speak for most people on here when I say that we enjoy what you bring to the booth and look forward to listening to you for many years to come.

Welcome to NSBB Len! Hope you're able to post on occasion. I'm sure all of our community would love to hear from you.

Wow we almost have representitives from every level of the Cubs posting here! Welcome Len, you have made the transition from the familiar Chip and Steve booth smoother then I could ever imagine.

However in order to confirm your identity, we must ask you some validation questions:

1) What was the average legnth in millimeters of your hair on July 15, 2002?

2) What was the name of your third grade teacher's dog's mother?

3) What was the 47th word you said on air as a broadcaster for the Cubs (not including Spring Training?)

If you know the answers to these questions, we will accept your identity as real.

To follow suit, I appreciate the greater divulging into stats such as OPS during the broadcasts than the majority of play by play broadcasters. I was skeptical at 1st, but I have been impressed and pleased with the contributions of both of you in the TV booth. Edited by UK

Welcome Len! I'd only little exposure to your broadcasts through EI in Cubs games against Florida and when Dontrelle pitched coming into this season. I've thoroughly enjoyed hearing you call the games on a daily basis. You are as well-prepared as anyone in the game from personalities, to stats (OBP, OPS, pitcher-use, etc), and strategy.

Keep up the good work with Bob!
