Miguel Cabrera and Albert Pujols might beat them both out in that category.

I'm a big ARam fan, but it seems the guy (and the team for that matter) ground into alot of crucial DP. I could be wrong, but it just seems that this team in general kills alot of possible rallies w/ the DP.

While Cabrera and Pujols might end up with more. Here's GDP per PA.

Caberera 523PA/15GDP - 34.87AB

Pujols 541PA/14GDP - 34.64 AB

Neifi 464PA/14GDP - 33.14 AB

ARAM 496/13GDP - 38.15 AB

ARAM is having a fantastic season, but on a team that's as awful as this one, you can't GDP that often. I don't want him to go anywhere.......don't get me wrong.........just making a point that this team kills it self.

Burnitz also has 10

Lawton has 9

Walker and Lee both have 8

That's the top 5.

If they had an equal amount of at bats, Neifi would have far more. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/statistics/sortable/index.php?cid=128

Click on last and you will see Neifi around the bottom.

So he grounds into a DP once every 8-10 games. It's not that big a deal.

I think we tend to think up stuff like this because we primarly watch cub games.

I bet if we watched more cardinal games, we'd get the feeling that pujols grounds into a ton of DPs.

The DP is going to happen, it's part of the game. I'm not saying ARam is an awful player because he GDP and therefore his #'s aren't legit.

But I do have a feeling that if the Cubs were 18-19 games up in the division, I probably wouldn't care either.

Anybody notice (like it actually makes a difference) that Aram was safe at second on the dbl play in the ninth. I rewound my DVR 6 times and the second basemen pulle his foot off before the ball was in his glove.

Same play that killed the Cubs in Col.

I wonder how many times Santo grounded into a DP? I'm thrilled with ARam at 3rd and he is the best there for the Cubs since Madlock and if he continues to put up 35-100-280 he'll be up there with Santo IMO.

thank you for the recognition. I have been sitting back watching Aramis slowly put together a masterful season. Aramis is turning into a special player and 40 HR's and 120 RBI's would be a ridiculous year. But I have to admit, missing the playoffs is going to devastate me....

I think Aramis turned a corner when he came to the Cubs in 2003. I believe this is the type of production we can expect out of him from now on. He's arrived as one of the game's superstars. Plus, with the 1-2 combination of Aramis and DLee, that's trouble for most pitchers. The only 1-2 combo I see being better or even in the same class this season is Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz.

Numbers wise this year:

Lee = Pujols

Ramirez > Edmonds

Edmonds isn't having the year he had last year. They're in the same class, but I think Lee and Aram get the nod right now.

ARod and Sheffield are good too. But again:

Lee = Arod

Ramirez > Sheffield

Just based on this year's numbers.

And now Aramis is on pace for...

The DL.

Quad injury today. No news yet.

That's ok, now we can see Jose Macias every day! You have to look at the bright sides of things.
