Sorry about posting this so late. I am going to point to my av for the reason why (although he was not involved whatsoever).

I don't know what will make tomorrow worse, watching the Cubs lose or listening to the idiocy that is Joe Morgan.

neither of which will be nearly as bad as the ball-strike calls of Mr. Bruce Froemming.

Do Miller and Morgan have a lock on Sunday Night Baseball? Are Thorne and Stone relegated to the KC vs. DET games all year?

Between ESPN and FOX, I sometimes hate the fact that the Cubs are so nationally popular....

I'm certain the Cubs will end up losing but, one cannot help being optimistic about tonight's game. With the present Cardinal lineup there's the very real possibility Prior shut's them down perhaps, throws a two or three hitter. Of couse, they'll probably end up losing as we'll be forced to listen to Miller and Morgan babble all night about the Cardinal' being the NL' best team. By the way, if the current Cardinal lineup represents the NL' best team, the NL doesn' have a chance in the WS.

I had the good fortune of meeting Milt Pappas back in 1997. No surprise that even after 25 years Pappas can't even say Bruce Froemming without a sneer forming on his lips.

ok--anyone else watching the Astros/Pirates. Pirates are up 4-0. If they can hold them off, then all the Cubbies have to do is throw together a little 4 game winning streak and they will be 3.5 out of WC and heading into Coors Field!!!

I know it is being optimistic, but hey--why not!! Who knows with this team?!?!?!

This team is streaky enough to do that. I doubt they'll do it, but they certainly could.

You're thinking way too highly for this team.

The Cubs could win the next 10 games in a row and get to within a game of the WC lead, and I still don't think they'd win it. They'd find a way to blow it somehow.

You gotta remain optimistic. Although it doesnt even seem like the team is at this point.

If you turn pessimistic now and give up hope, baseball is no longer going to be fun this summer with the Sox and Cards in first place fighting for the best record in baseball...

God, what a depressing thought.

I can make it worse!!!!

Joe Morgan is in the booth tonight.

I didn't see yesterday's game, but would last night's lineup work for tonight's game?

Maybe inserting Murton in LF and moving Lawton to RF (despite Burnitz' 3-4 yesterday)?
