Terrible Collision between Mets Outfielders

Has anyone seen it yet? Beltran and Cameron ran into each other going full speed, both diving for the ball. Looked absolutely terrible.

Carlos Beltran - OF - NYM

 

 

Carlos Beltran will have a CT scan after today's collision, but he might be able to join the Mets for tomorrow's game in Los Angeles.

Beltran had a sore shoulder and a cut near his left temple. At the moment, he seems to be day-to-day. Aug. 11 - 8:14 pm et

 

 

Mike Cameron - OF - NYM

 

 

Mike Cameron has a broken nose, multiple fractures of both cheekbones and a slight concussion as a result of his collision with Carlos Beltran today.

Cameron will go on the disabled list. The Mets gave no indication about whether he'd be back this season. Because of the broken cheekbones, we have to think he'll miss at least 4-6 weeks. Expect Victor Diaz to become the club's everyday right fielder. Aug. 11 -

I just saw the highlight (or lowlight) on BBTN. Gruesome. It reminded me of the feeling I had when I watched Dave Dravecky's arm explode or when I saw Lawerence Taylor end Joe Thiesman's career.

It really is. I would equate it to seeing Jermaine Dye's leg break or Kendall's ankle injury - a couple incidents I only cared to see once.

I was there when Hee Sop Choi collided with Kerry, but this is 20x worse. Oh my god, I really hope Mike is ok and that his future life, not just baseball, will be ok. Wow.

My brother has that picture in his screen saver (he's a huge hockey fan so last winter as you cna believe, nearly killed him).

 

I have yet to see the collision, but I'm not sure I want to.
