To whoever called me out a few weeks ago when I strenously pointed out this choking dog team has no heart, whenever you want to apologize to me, I'm ready.

Quit stroking yourself.

Thisis the end of Dusty. JH gave him the dreaded vote of confidence and tried to redirect the media's attention to the players (who, in reality, are at least 50% responsible). He gone.

This has to be a joke, The players are probably doing this on purpose. We're still not out of this inning. Wuertz hasnt done squat. I'm thinking they might be doing this on purpose.

MIlton's Pitching. The Cubs have the perfact pitcher in place for a huge come back.

Distinct possibilty here seeing as how hes only 39 pitches into the game....while we are a few from 100 in 2 pitchers.

I think the fans should all grab a newspaper and read the rest of the game. Either that or turn and face the other way. The Cubs don't deserve the fans attention at this point.

The good news is that if the Reds can bat around again this inning, then Pena can make all 3 outs in the 4th!

that would have to be some knid of record...

I stand by what I said. Lack of heart isn't the problem here, and it never was.

I wouldn't be so sure.

Through the years, this team has never failed to shock me by keeping the biggest boneheads around and getting rid of the smart people.

With this performance, any Hill plus extras for Dunn trade this offseason can be kissed goodbye.

Once agin, another player has successfully devalued himself in a Cub uniform.

yep. he's done...i can tell all i need to know about a guy after four starts.

this whole season is the fault of hill and patterson.

Who talked about CPatt there? Does anyone actually read anymore?

Anyway, I'm not saying Hill is a failure or to blame for the season. What I'm pointing out is that a lot of people thought Hill was a sticking point in a trade for Dunn or any Reds outfielder. Since this poor performance is against Reds, chances are they will no longer want him as much in a trade. In other words, this performance decreases his value to the Reds if there ever was a trade to discuss with the Reds.

Man, I know frustration causes people to say things, but you have to remember, Hill wasn't supposed to have been brought up this year. Had it not been for injuries and suckiness in the bullpen he wouldn't have been brought up this year. Or, if he had been brought up, he would've stayed in the pen if our starters had been healthy. There is nothing to suggest that he won't be a star in the future. It was not designed for him to have been brought up to start in 2005. What we are looking at is the worst case scenario that is actually happening.

The ushers have the tasers ready...

I seriously cannot recall a time when they have played this badly, and I have been around for some really horrendous years.

Do we now think they are trying to get Dusty fired?

Aurillia made the first out though.

Postgame:

Reporter: So, what happened today, Dusty?

Dusty: Boy, I don't know what to say. I ain't talkin' about no rumors this time. I don't no where that stuff comes from, man. One minute I'm in Washington, the next minute I'm in LA. I mean, who starts this jive?

Reporter: Uh, no Dusty. I was talking about the game. You told us a couple days ago you wouldn't talk about rumors anymore.

Dusty: Oh, the game? Oh yeah. Well, I ain't hittin', am I? I ain't pitchin' either. Don't ask me. Sarge and Gene handle the hittin' and Larry works the pitchers. You don't expect me to handle everything, do you?

Reporter: Well, what do you do if you delegate everything?

Dusty: I do alot. Alot, man. I watch over everyone to make sure they are doing their jobs. You can't have 5 fisherman on a four sided boat, know what I'm sayin'?

Reporter(s) in unison: No.

Dusty: I'll tell you one thing. My guys don't quit. They go out there each day and work their butts off. They give up sometimes, though. In fact, they give up most of the time. I'm tired of this stuff, man. I'm tired of it.

Reporter: So, do they quit, or don't they?

Dusty: What did I just say? You have to ask them. I know I don't quit. I've never quit anything. In San Fransisco, we played in October 8 straight years. You know, the playoffs.

Reporter: No, you didn't.

Dusty: You may not have seen it, but we did. And, I did it without rookies. We didn't have any talent in SF. But, we didn't have any personnel problems either. Everyone got along. It was like a big family.

Reporter: Didn't Bonds and Kent have a highly publicized fight in the dugout?

Dusty: Man, what are you trying to dig up? Everyone has fights once in a while. Striped bass travel in schools, but you don't think they bump into each other once in a while? In the end, its about who gets to the bait first, because the bait is for everyone.

Reporter: Then, why does it matter who gets there first?

Dusty: Dude, its not my problem. I don't know what else to say. All I know is that my coaches need brought back for continuity of leadership.

Reporter: Why should the Cubs bring back your coaches when you have placed fault for the Cub fundamental failures on them?

Dusty: Stop stirring stuff up, man. I'm loyal to my guys. I've won with these guys. That is all that matters. You don't get rid of your girlfriend just because you don't like her anymore.

Reporter: Sure you do.

Dusty: You're just doing the same stuff to me like you did to Barry. The same stuff. Where's Darren?
