It's happening. DeMuth's terrible behind home plate.

I'll look closer, but I don't recall DeMuth missing much. And that 3-0 strike Williams got with the bases loaded was definitely up and away. Got a break there.

 

I've counted about three or four pitches so far in this game from both pitchers that looked pretty good, but called balls.

 

perhaps, but I also noticed

 

low strike call on Hairston

high strike call on Walker

outside strike call on Lawton

 

while I also saw

 

same location as Hairston called a ball on Burrell

same location as Lawton called a ball on Howard.

This is like the fourth game in which theres been whining of the umpiring on balls and strikes.

 

 

Its our team that is sucking, not the umpires. At the other team boards of the Yanks/Red Sox theres never complaining of officiating.

 

Because you have Arod/Manny/Matsui blasting bombs off of all pitchers. I'm afraid our offense is too streaky this season to be all that effective.

This team is unbelievable. Every time they pull out a win like last night, and it looks like they might take off, they go back to just being the same old Cubs.

 

Man our defense really sucks :o .

For some reason it did, because that was a game they usually find a way to lose. Similar to the 2 wins vs the cards, and the win vs the D-backs.

nobody ever claimed it was the sole reason, and I whole heartedly disagree that the umpires haven't had an impact on many many games.

 

if you could ask Greg Maddux and get a candid answer on the subject, he'd tell you about 4 or 5 games where he got hosed on a strike three call that changed the entire game.

 

next time a Cubs hitter gets a borderline pitch called a ball, let me know.
