Do you have anything new to say?

I don't believe ive ever uttered that statement. However theres not alot of reason to be entirely optimistic right now.

The Cubs are barely treading water, and with a 40% DLee we're in DEEP trouble.

As I type this DLee botches a play.

D Lee didnt botch that play. the Cubs are lucky he got to that ball instead of it going down the line. JW should have been at first to accept the throw.

I don't think we only have 40% Lee either.

We need to get a SP this offseason. I don't think Jerome Williams and Rich Hill can get us to the playoffs.

Actually, well probably only need one since

A) Maddux's option will vest

B) Kerry will be a starter again.

That leaves one spot for Hill or Williams. They are good 5th starters.

this is fricken maddening.

not only Williams failure to cover, but before the game, I heard Dusty on the pregame with Santo. he talked about how they are facing a guy who is effectively wild. so they have a game plan to be patient and take alot of pitches.

so what do we see? we see Lee swing at two balls and K. we see Burnitz swing at two balls and pop up. we see Aram go out of the strikezone and K. we see Walker with a three pitch AB (one very generous called strike) and flyout on a ball. we see Neifi with a two pitch at bat flyout on a pitch over his head.

Baker blows, but sometimes your team has to execute a game plan, and tonight, it's like they aren't even trying.

I agree to an extent but this is just the second inning.

If someone has any idea what Ramirez and Williams were doing on that play, please let me know.

oh well. I advise every cubs fan here to turn off the tube (or gamecast). This is ugly and probably going to get uglier.. Edited by chicubs
