annoying burnitz with a HUGE swing.

Was he annoying when he hit the game winner the other day?

Yeah he kept rubbing it in while making funny noises in in his postgame interview

I'm not listening or watching.. but how did Lawton get robbed of a hit?

He hit it in a hole and the second basemen made a good play.

Utley made a nice grab ranging to his right, then a good throw to Howard to beat Lawton by a quarter step.

Is it just me or did a ball get erased from that AB?? He took 3 balls, but the count was all screwed up.. CSN was screwed up and so was Len.

Either that, or I'm nuts.

EDIT - that would be Lawton's AB...

CSN had 0-1 when it was 1-1. Len hesitated a bit and started to say the wrong count, but he caught himself.

I'm gonna check on the TiVo and see if I'm nuts.. but I could've sworn there were 3 balls in that.. and that the 2-2 count after which he fouled off a pitch should actually have been a 3-1 count.. I'll go see.

Ah, I see. The 1-1 pitch was called a strike, but it was really a bad pitch. I must've just assumed it was a ball at the time. Low and off the plate.

Oh, well.

Do new players not get to wear the "C" on their batting helmet?

Probably his Pirates helmet and he wanted to keep it.. thus he had it re-painted... (Just a guess?)

The C on the Cubs helmet isnt painted on, its actually applied on seperately.

Yea, I'm pretty sure it's just a sticker... (or something like that)

So he probably kept his Pirates helmet, had it painted blue/red, and hasnt gotten the sticker yet?

Possibly.

It's a felt-like sticker.

I dunno. It seems unlikely to me that he'd go to all that trouble of painting it...especially with the two-tone paint job for the away helmet and all that. Of course, you never know with baseball players and their superstitions.

My guess is that he just got a brand new helmet which may have been packaged with the sticker (or not) and he just forgot to put the sticker on...or didn't want to for some reason... or who knows... LOL

Suspend him for violation of uniform policy
