I'm pretty sure he played LF a little bit when he came up because Palmeiro was still there and may have played it in the minors as well.

I don't think he'd have any problem doing that.

Again, there's probably no way they deal him but picking up Nevin raises some questions.

The rangers do have the money to pay him but tex is a boras client and is salivating for his big pay day. Although he does have some nasty home/road splits as well. I am not a big Hill fan, but I think with wood out for the rest of the year we need him. I just dont think Rusch can do it for us. Plus, Rusch should be included in any deal with the rangers.

Theres no way in hell tex gives up texeira. hes only 25 , can play left, and puts up monster numbers. That being said, it is jim hendry. But in all honesty, teixera is a borderline superstar offensively and is only 25.

Come on theres no way we get Texeira. He's a superstar in the making.

Agreed -- unless your offer starts with Prior or Zambrano, there is no way Texas deals Teixeira.

Well, probably another great day of being a cubbie fan..........probably no trades and they will lose...........i am really growing tired

Texiera IMO would take at least Prior/Zambrano (which we aren't gonna do)

Felix Pie

Brian Dopirak

and another minor league pitcher or two. Texiera is a pipe dream.

Why are people so whacko for Rich Hill?

This guy is average at best, and this team is in a severe need of a shakeup.

Soriano is the BEST second baseman in the league offensively. He is still young, and knows how to play in front of pressure (NY). I'd love for the Cubs to get him.

no, brian roberts is, and chase utley and jeff kent are NL 2Bs who are far better than soriano anyways.

there's a whole other thread on why we shouldn't get soriano, by the way.

You should really look at Soriano's home/away splits, consider his poor defense, and his diminished speed before using the word BEST anything with Soriano.

Soriano is almost 30, and hasn't been any better than Walker.

I'm going to tune into the Padres/Reds game and see if anything gets said here. I'd watch the rest of the Cub game, but it's been pretty depressing at this point. I do hope we never sign a reliever as old as Remlinger for more than a year ever in our lifetimes.

ESPN is reporting that the Braves picked up Fransworth
Oh great. Welcome to the next reincarnation of Eric Gagne.

Because he's left-handed, young, cheap and breathing.

No link? NOT TRUE!!!

That a tighter standard than the one used for getting on Elimidate!
