I don't get that. The DH should help their overall offensive stats, but they are still lower than ours, and yet they score more.

It'd be like today when Murton has gotten on base. Instead of Jerome Williams attempting to bunt him over or flail at a bad pitch, you have an actual major league hitter up there who can attempt to drive him in.

Why the hell is Williams still out there? Hes walking the tightrope the whole game, but dusty sends him out for the 6th?

Ok.

Diamondbacks offense, vs Cubs Offense. Who wins?

Both are equally pathetic.

Cubs lead by 22 runs this season. They also have a BA that is .018 above the D-backs and a SLG that is .038 above. The D-Backs have a slight (.002) advantage in OBP. I'd say the Cubs offense is better.

You know what I don't get? We are ahead of the White Sox in OBP, SLG, and BA, but they have seriously outscored us. What's up with that?

Podsednik. He has 51 SBs. We have 46 as a team.

Despite all those SBs, Walker has been more productive than Podsednik.

Demonic intervention.

They do have speed, but though they have the most SB in the MLB, they also have the most CS. I don't think that can make up for the entire gap. The Sox scored 485 runs in 100 games. The Cubs scored 467 runs in 101 games and have a better BA, OBP, and SLG.

I guess it's mostly luck.

because dusty is the manager.....most would pick on the obvious but not toothpick boy

Dusty doesn't see the future. He only sees what's happening right now. He doesn't realize that Williams is struggling right now because he hasn't given up any more runs. Once he does, THEN Dusty will notice that he's struggling

Timely hitting. They get hits when guys are 3rd base. The Cubs either strike out, or hit into a double play.

Walker has 32 runs scored to Pods 57. Pods is an All-Star at the top of their lineup.

Those steals put pressure on the other teams. Watch a Sox games where this guy gets on base and the pitchers just start to collapse. they cant focus on the next guy up. I'm not saying that accounts for the run differential entirely, but you combine this fact and the fact that they just seem to be more "clutch" than the cubs and the runs will score.
