I'll be at all three games. I'm going to try to not get arrested.

Just remember...if the Cubs are getting blown out, don't be afraid to run onto the field and tackle Pujols. We'll all be proud of you.

I don't think the wife will let me...but I'll take that under advisement.

right because, no offense Vance, but in your pics you don't look big enough to tackle Pujols. Actually I don't know if all of us at NSSB are big enough to tackle the JOLS.

I'll take out Eckstein then!

You know that if you take out Eckstein it just means that Nunez will take his place and hit .400?

No, the Cubs will DFA Macias, the Cards will pick him up, he'll hit .350 over the rest of the season, injure his knee in the playoffs, but then he'll be called on to PH in Game 7 of the World Series and hit a walk-off HR in one of the most classic WS moments of all time.

Holy Crap - JImmy 6-24 with 12 K's vs. big Z. And Big Z is 2-3 against Carp. I think Z is going to go deep in the game :) .

Z = one of the few reason to watch the Cubs.

Go CUBS !!

Posted

I'm not being bold enough to predict a win here to avoid jinx purposes, but this matchup clearly favors the Cardinals. As a team we have a higher OBP and SLG against Zambrano than the Cubs do against Carp. The Cards BB/K ratio against Z is better than the Cubs BB/K ratio against Carp. The Cards have more HR against Z than the Cubs do against Carp.

Not to mention that for the past two months Carp has been the best pitcher in baseball.

However, we are missing Sanders, Molina, and for all offensive purposes Rolen, so that might swing things in the Cubs favor. TLR should stick Mabry and that 1.133 OPS in their against Z tomorrow night.

I don't think the wife will let me...but I'll take that under advisement.

right because, no offense Vance, but in your pics you don't look big enough to tackle Pujols. Actually I don't know if all of us at NSSB are big enough to tackle the JOLS.

I'll take out Eckstein then!

Heck yeah and take out Taguchi for playing way over his head

Vance would have no chance against The Gooch.

Zambrano shut these same Cardinals down back on April 20th. Let's hope that he does the same tonight. Go Cubs!!!

This is a new thing I'm testing. Tell me what you guys thing about it. If it doesnt work out, I will go back to the classical match-ups next start.

How do you predict a win out of those match-ups? :? It looks like the Cards should win handily from those numbers. Just wondering.

He'll need to because Carpenter shut us out the last time we faced him... He's been virtually unhittable lately.

Yeah...I was there...we happened to lose Nomar that day too.

:( :(

On a somewhat related note, that was my Son's first Baseball game...he's almost a year old now....I bought a brick in the new Stadium that reads...

William Moore

1st gm 4-20-2005

Cubs 3, Cards 1

Its about as close as I could get to having go Cubs put in the side of the new Busch Stadium...I think they would have edited anything more 'Pro Cub'

Posted
I usually look at the total BA. They're hitting .193 Vs. Z, we're hitting .231 Vs. Carpenter.

Unfortunately, that's about the only category we are winning in this matchup.

Posted
I predict we knock Carpenter all over the park tonight.

For some reason we do seem to compete well against other team's "aces." I honestly would be more afraid if they called up three lefty AA'ers who didn't throw harder than 92. We would not score more than 3 runs all series and they would all be solo homeruns. :?
