0-4 with two strikeouts tonight.

This guy is just one more free-swinger who strikes out waay to often. IIRC, he's leading the league in that right now. I mean, we chased Sammy out of town why? Why give up good basic baseball players to have Dunn. Frankly, if Murton keeps playing like he is now, I don't see a reason to replace him.

EDIT: I'll be editing the post as the series continues.

Yep.

Yes

So he has one bad game and we are supposed to say to hell with him.

1. His OBP is still stellar.

2. Dont you think the move to a club that will put up more runs around him, and win more games, will elevate his play just a little. even if it doesnt. That OBP and that power....i want it.

Well, the near .400 OBP is one reason, the youth is another, his relative inexpense another, and the power yet another. Yes, I do still really want Adam Dunn.

Glad I could help.

you can't be serious.

first of all, i cannot begin to tell you how asinine it is to bring up a player's performance in one game. if he hits 3-3 with 2 HRs and a BB tomorrow, will that change your opinion of him? i doubt it. so it's silly to even bring up what he did tonight.

secondly, i hate to be a jerk, but have you read any of the 10 or so threads dedicated to adam dunn? there's probably been one in every forum, and in every one, about a dozen people bring up the whole strikeout issue. i'm so tired of arguing about it, i'm not going to even bother doing it again.

but to answer your question, i still want him. bad. and you should too.

EDIT: fun fact - dunn's OPS is higher than aramis ramirez's, abreu's, andruw jones, and jim edmonds

I'm sorry, but I don't judge players based on one game. I want as many players as I can get that post 900+ OPS.

LOL, nice to see someone with an open mind on this subject.

I also saw Dunn make a nice catch in LF going back towards the wall to rob Hairston of an extra base hit. His performance at the plate was lackluster though, I'll give you that.
