lets hope Derrek and Aramis have huge nights tonight :)

My deep-seeded Cubs pessimism says they won't. I remember how many years Sosa went 0 for 2 or 0 for 3 and was a complete non-factor...

I'll miss the first half of the game. Stupid TKD. That means I'll probably miss all of DLEE's atbats. Oh well.

I loved Sammy, but he was really just a mistake hitter. He didnt go out and hit good pitches like Vlad Guerrero, so hes going to struggle when the best pitchers in the world come to town. That being said, there was time that if you made a slight mistake against Sammy, he would hammer it better than anyone in the game.

Huh? That guy swings at some absoloute CRAP. He'll swing at anything. Of course, he hits it, but the fact is he still swings at crap.

Yah, but most good pitchers throw "crap" ....difference is Vlad can hit "crap" while Sammy struggled to hit "crap" pitches.

IIRC, he has owned Curt Schilling over his career. But yes, I would agree otherwise.

Ok, I'll admit it! I am looking forward to this All-star game because D Lee and ARam are starting. The AL line up is stacked but I have my fingers crossed for the NL. Also, I'd be very happy if Burehle gave up some runs!

roberts batting 9th for the al is stupid.

the nl lineup seems fine.

I don't understand why Roberts 9th is stupid. It's the same philosophy Francona employs in Boston (with Bellhorn). Put a high OBP guy in the 9th spot so that your 3 and 4 hitters have more opportunities to drive in runs.

As a high school baseball coach, I put a high OBP in the 9 hole.

Travis Hafner's absence from this game is brutal:

OBP, 1

SLG, 2

OPS, 1

Yeah, The Pronk is right up there with Miggy and Bellhorn as my favorite players.

I think the NL starters are considerably better, especially before Pedro dropped out.

Carp, Dontrelle, Clemens, Pedro.....not many baserunners in there, let alone runs!

I missed who the AL closers are? Rivera? K-Rod?... Oh yeah, I remember Baez, what a joke. If I was Francona I wouldn't play him.
