yeah, the weather doesn't look good. I'm not worried, though. I'm sure he'll trot the same lineup out there next time they actually play.

He's got to punish Hairston for his comments in the paper, and Dubois for his, well, existence, so they have to sit...

i can't believe i actually want this game to get rained out.

Ya know, Maybe if hte game is rained out, that will give hendry the time to fire baker without us having to lose again.

And in Dusty's mind, Cedeno doesn't exist.

How could they have had discussions to bring Cedeno up and not play him? What is the purpose of him being called up?

no cedeno, no hairston - macias and perez batting 1 and 2.

i'm seriously going to quit watching this team. it's pathetic to see a team with this much talent run into the ground.

Dont you see the strategy? Dusty wrote this lineup card out knowing full well that the game was going to be rained out. He just wants to make Macias and Perez still feel like they are a big part of the team!

He's really gonna put Cedeno, Walker, and Dubois in the lineup tomorrow night! Dusty is a players manager! He knows that in order to win you must put your best players out on the field, he didnt want Macias and Perez to feel bad because Dusty knows Cedeno and Walker are better than them!

Wow. I am amazed by his managerial skills. Thank you Jim Hendry for getting us such a great manager we can all love and support!

lineup rant>

f baker> When will that happen?

Are you joking me? This must be a joke? Even by Dusty's standards this is terrible. What a farce, this whole thing is jut utterly ridiculous right now. No words can express the anger I have towards this organization right now. Hendry grow some balls and fire this trash manager!!!

I always root for the Cubs no matter what, but I know that right now the best thing for this orginization is for the Cubs to keep losing. The more they continue on this tailspin the quicker Dusty gets fired. This line-up is absolutely ridiculous. The one person who should be the most out-raged is Mark Prior.

And I thought it couldn't get any worse. This is the lineup is that trotted out there to end a six game losing streak? Against one of the best pitchers in the National League? With one of your best on-base guys on the bench? The two worst hitters at the top of the order? Two very promising rookies rotting on the bench? With the ace of the staff going for the Cubs?

Fire him now.

Ok--I am with you now boys. I have been a little of a Dusty apologist, but what the heck. I have not been this frusterated witha manager since riggleman kept running Rey Sanchez out there.

I can't understand it--Jerry H must be a complete A-hole or something--that is the only explanation for it. Oh except, Cedeno and Dubois are getting the same treatment.

I am at a loss for words boys and girls :?

i used to think this, but i don't think hendry has the balls to do it.

i hope i have to eat my words on this one - i really do - but i don't think it will happen before the end of the season.

Jerry & Dubios beat Darren in Risk last week, so Darren told Dusty to bench them until they let him win...

As fans we have to run him out of town like we did Sosa. Make signs when you attend a Cubs game, demanding the firing of Dusty & booing everytime he comes out of the dugout. Upper mgmt will get the message. I once was a Dusty appologist, now I just have had enough!

Riggleman was a much better manager than Dusty. No doubt about it. Riggleman just had an extremely horrible team and had no other choice.

Actually, I wouldnt be surprised if that wasnt too far away fromt he truth. Baker probably consults with Darren over the lineup.

It looks like we won't get the game in tonight, if I had to guess.

here's the radar in atlanta..

Looks like a rain out to me.

We do have a stretch of 3 lefties coming up, so it's possible that Hairston and Cedeno will start some of those games. Neifi will probably get one start too just because Dusty will find it difficult to sit Neifi for 3 straight games.

Maybe it has something to do with the splits against right hand hitters

vs. Left 264 70 19 1 5 27 24 0 49 3 2 .265 .324 .402 .726

vs. Right 209 44 4 1 2 12 9 0 47 1 2 .211 .243 .268 .511

He also does not walk many right handers. Also, do you want rookies to come in and face one of the top aces in the game? (at least right handed rookies?)

Good news on Derrek. He had an MRI done and it showed nothing wrong. It's just inflammation and it will be up to him on whether or not to play tomorrow night.

It's raining very lightly at the park, but based on the latest radar update, there are some nasty scattered t-storms to the SW that could pose a problem even later.
