Bears Week 2: vs Vikings 1pm on CBS

I’m feeling surprisingly zen about this whole thing. Almost anything that could go wrong did go wrong. There’s like 3-4 plays where if something cosmically unlucky doesn’t happen you win the game in a slopfest:

-Kalief Raymond not being able to cross the plane

-Swift fumble at the one

-Roush drops a td, one of his two disastrous drops

-Caleb has a lane for a td one the play he hurts himself

 

if Caleb isn’t significantly injured the season is salvageable. 
 

Horrible, disastrous game that still need not be a catastrophe.

Meh, he was making decent reads and putting it where guys could catch it...actually more willing to throw a contested ball than Caleb was today, but those were some juicy weak armed balls just begging to be broken up or picked off.  I just dont see it with him.  I hope to be proven wrong

would have felt so much better if we could have gotten the extra 13 yards on those 2 plays at the end.  2-0 with a QB out for 4 weeks isn't the end of the world.  1-1 is obviously a worse position to be in.

Wow I just saw a replay of the blocked FG and...wow, what a whiff by Roush.

If we believe Ben Johnson is the same caliber coach as Shanahan/McVay then Ben should be able to make Bagent a playable QB while Caleb is out. Let's just hope Caleb does not miss too much time.

The game was there to be won, even with the Caleb injury. Just too many mistakes. Actually both weeks, in spite of the 50+ points in game 1, have been mistake-ridden.  Today we just didn’t have the margin to have a chip shot FG blocked, a fumble at the goal line, and a drive into their red zone blown up by penalties.

For sure, Bagent isn’t winning you anything with his noodle. But he was moving the ball some.

And a dropped pass (albeit thrown behind him a bit) that would have given them a 1st inside the 3 on the drive Caleb eventually was injured on.  He had a horrific game.

He was held by the Vikings defender on the 1st made FG. I didn't see if he was held on the secy.

Terrible game by Roush and if I’m being honest I’m not letting him run any routes for the rest of the season

I do trust Ben to do the right thing and not just keep playing a guy who isn’t getting it done.

I shouldn’t be shocked that the Chicago sports reporters are all lambasting Johnson and talking about how much of a coaching failure this game was because they need to provide some kind of narrative or story but uh…. 
 

…. the conditions were borderline unplayable. The Vikings did nothing offensively either. It was a mess. I’m sorry to rain (lol) on anyone’s parade but I just don’t see any major conclusions to draw from this one. Other than hoping against hope Caleb is back as soon as possible.

Just got back from the game. The Vikings didn't make many mistakes the Bears had several.  Im trying to dry off. I don't even care the Bears lost. I was worried Caleb had an ACL. If he only misses 4 weeks I will be kinda happy
