Cards have 6 on NL All-Star team

It's official....

the six that we believed....

(izzy, instead of morris).

lee won the vote at 1B.

cardinals fans went to sleep on that one; let Cubs override Pujols with an aggressive campaign.

The 6 are: Edmonds, Rolen, Eckstein (Starters), Pujols (DH), Carpenter, and Isringhausen..

Congrats to the All-Stars. I cant believe Eckstein is a starter of an ASG..

Lee shoulda been the leader at 1st.. So yeah..

I doubt Bernie would be lying but I'm still gonna watch to make sure it's correct.

from that thread...

I'd take one Pujols over three Lees. When Lee has done this consistently for several years then they can talk about him being an elite player, until then Albert is Boss.

i can understand taking pujols over lee. but THREE lees???

I can't. I realize he has a bias but still. For one game this year how could you not select Derrek?

Well, at least the guys who deserved to start at SS and 3B for the NL made the team.
none of the cardinals starters should be there. the outfield should be abreu in center and Carlos and Miguel on the corners. Felipe Lopez should be at SS. Aram or Morgan Ensberg should be at 3B. What a farce.

im so angry that macias got snubbed!! thats absolute absurd lol. no seriously derrek lee starting is incredible, the fans would have to be idiots to not start a man batting .390 with 25 HR's and 68 RBI's. and of course Aramis deserves to be there, he is a stud.

Are you referring to Carlos Beltran? He has been pretty average this year. If you're keeping guys at their positions, the OF should be Cabrera, Andruw Jones and Abreu; if you're playing guys out of position then put Jason Bay or Abreu in CF. I don't have as much of an issue with Edmonds starting because he has at least been good this year and hasn't been much worse than Andruw Jones. Rolen is not even close to ARam, David Wright or Ensberg (the latter two got left off) and Eckstein is way, way behind Felipe Lopez. Even Bill Hall deserved to make it ahead of Eckstein. Cesar Izturis doesn't belong on the team, either.

Oh yeah, can someone explain this to me?

Eckstein trailed the Dodgers' Cesar Izturis by 44,000 in totals released June 29 and won by 570,000.

How did Eckstein garner 600,000 votes more than Izturis in the last two days?!?!? I would accuse Cardinal fans of cheating, but if that were the case Pujols should have held off Lee also. So, I think Eckstein's extended family found a hole in the system.

Vance has a doppleganger.

I'm assuming by Carlos he is talking about the one playing in the far north Chicago suburbs.

Amazing. How the...wow...

10th in the AL among 1B in AVG

6th in the AL among 1B in OBP

4th in the AL among 1B in SLG

10th, 6th, and 4th and he's somehow an All Star? I don't think he belongs.

The justification I heard on the radio today is that he is the leader of the team. And the team has the best record in baseball. Of course, this was in between comments about trading Wood for Carl Crawford and moving Burnitz to center so Hairston could play right so take it with a grain of salt.

Ah, the intangibles huh? I didn't know he was still leading the league in Clubhouse Presence.

Blame it on the PLAYERS. Isn't that a result of their voting?

That was my ballot. I think fans need to remember that the game determines homefield for the WS...so fans really should pick the guys performing the best to give their league a better chance at winning.

I think the voting process is a joke. It's a matter of time before a team's fans figure out how to hijack a vote and vote in the worst possible playeres for the opposing league.
