Super random but a friend who is a fan of another team asked me this yesterday.  Now that the season is over and emotions have settled etc, what would have been a better outcome for you:

-What happened (playoff win over Packers, OT loss to Rams)

-A close loss in the NFC championship game after beating let's say the 49ers and Eagles.  Also the championship game loss is not to the Packers.

packers win easily

honestly, and I’m biased because I was sitting in section 250 for the rams game and the Kmet catch happened right in front of me (i think my soul levitated 40 feet above my body when it happened), I wouldn’t change a thing if neither choice ends in a Super Bowl appearance.

I was in 441 and it was right in front of me too. 😂

Obviously lower stakes but I was right in the EZ on the same side in the Browns game when threw that dime to DJ Moore "right in front of me" too.  Just an instance vantage point to watch it from.

Anyways I'd take the longer playoff run. I'm not letting cheese heads live rent free. Longer PO run is better.

But that was my favor tire Bears game I ever watched. A rolled coaster! But the best.

Approximate feeling of watching the DJ Moore TD catch against Browns from EZ seats:

Ball was in the air for 20 seconds and the opening verse of 'Like a Prayer' audibly played in my head.  Clouds opening and rays of sun shot down from sky as Moore came down with a TD catch.

(was a bit hammered and high)

I was absolutely wrecked by the end of the Rams game.  Shared a couple barrel aged stouts with a friend before I headed down, then had a couple cans of VSOR and a few shots before going into the game and didn't need much to keep that buzz alive for the whole game.

There's no world I want to give up 3 first round picks for a guy who's on the wrong side of 30, doesn't matter if he's a lock hall of famer.

The problem with football players is they often hit a horsefeathers brick wall of production SUDDENLY and you have no idea when its gonna happen, but it WILL happen. Some players are physical miracles, some do things you wouldn't think is possible well into their 30s (I can't believe what Derrick Henry is doing for example), but you make a lot more money betting against that happening than FOR it happening.

Man I don't even know if I would do it for 2 first round picks. I just don't know if you can mortgage that much future for him. 1st and a 2nd and some other pieces? Absolutely.

Making it a round further is better.

Could we even afford him once Caleb gets paid?

Not only this but they've got guys like Rome and Wright who are, I believe, 2 years from getting paid. It makes them significantly better in next season and the season after, but I think it comes at a very high cost to anything beyond that.

I believe Rome, Caleb, and Burden will all be FAs the same year (taking as a given that Rome and of course Caleb’s options get picked up). It’ll be interesting to see how they navigate that.

3 FRP and Booker? It's gonna hurt, regardless of what it is.

Khalil Mack was 27 when we traded for him, and he cost 2 firsts, a third and a sixth (and got a conditional 2nd and 5th back). Garrett is 30.

I was simply making a guess about what Cleveland would ask for, not what I would offer. I would do 2 firsts straight up for Garrett but nothing else.

Nope. And the Bears cannot appeal the decision, either.

That is stupid.  They shouldn't have let him go then.  He's basically still an assistant GM but with a GM title.

Oh that's bs

Indeed it is.

He's literally going to be doing all the GM stuff because Ryan has no idea how to do it, but because of title the Bears get denied 2 3rd picks, incredibly dumb
