I now if evens out in the end, but still annoying to be "punished" for not playing

You got leapfrogged by a Miami team with 3 wins that are somewhere between 'good' to 'very good.' It frankly should've happened already.

Surprised to see USC is only -7 at Illinois thought certain opening odds would have the Trojans as a double digit favorite.  That may grow during the week, Illini lost 6 DB's with injuries or suspension during the game vs. Indiana.  I'm thinking USC at -7 is a slam dunk, easy cover for 'SC.

I don't know about that, Illini OL can't PP whatsoever, USC has better talent than Indiana on defense. Defensively, they lost their best DB for the season plus the DL doesn't put any pressure on the QB.  It'd be something if they didn't lose by 20+.

OK State fired Mike Gundy.

The “I’m a man, I’m 40” rant was 18 years ago so the player he was supposedly standing up for may be 40 himself at this point.

Don't feel great about this Oregon game

Im very excited for it. No way I will touch it with my money, but very excited about the game itself. How often did Oregon have to see anything like the Whiteout in the Pac 12?

I'm just concerned because Penn State played three complete nobody schools (and didn't exactly dominate any of them) so having this be the first real game is a sever uptick in difficulty

Did not expect this today from the Illini.  Shocking, thought they were going to get blown off the field, they didn't.  And even overcame a completely egregious fumble call against them - Feagin was down.  Still, good for the Illini showing some pride, heart, toughness.

I didn't get to watch the game. Does USC suck or was that Indiana game last week just some bizarre one off of everything going wrong?

Indiana got Illinois away from their power running attack. Made Illinois PP trash. Once a game becomes a blowout, score doesnt matter. Illinois was able to keep running ball, kept SCs dline honest.

I also think USC was somewhat overrated

Also, Illinois lost 6 of their starting 11 on defense to injury during the game.  They literally had all but one DB on the roster get hurt.

Indiana escapes @ Iowa

Might have been different had the Iowa QB not gotten hurt.  I'm fairly confident they're going to get blown out in Eugene next week.

Indiana is the better team but, like you said, the Illini had an incredible number of things go wrong.  They lost a horsefeathers ton of their starting defense to injury including nearly every DB on their roster.

Yeah, probably spot on.

I think it's reasonable to view them as a solid second tier type team but the top of the conference defiantly seems out of reach.

I'm hoping they don't get crushed, but anything more would require a few WTF when you're living right kind of moments.

Oregon grinding out long drives and has more than double the time of possession. Also are 3/4 on 4th down. In the meantime, Penn State keeps running horrible plays and the receivers can't get open

Yeah, they got a big early lead and got Illinois out of what they are good at. I think if they played again it would be a very competitive game.  Illinois is a good team, not great but they will be just fine.

What a kick in the nuts. Penn State thought they had a strip fumble with a big return but replay showed the Oregon RB's knee grazed the ground so they called him down. Ducks score a TD on the next play
