Seriously? He signed a 2 year $40 million contract because NFL QBs by default make way more than they should just for stepping on the field, once they get past their rookie deal.  The dude has lucked into generational wealth without ever actually succeeding at the NFL level.

Plus, assuming he doesn't "figure it out," he could easily have around 5 or so more years of backup play. So maybe 25 or so million added to all that.

Figuring it out is never going to happen, from a monetary standpoint Fields has done quite well.  Accomplishments as a player?  Not so much.  Nevertheless, I wish him well.

I'm definitely happy for Fields. He gets another chance to prove himself and start - more than most QBs get in the NFL. He was decent with the Steelers, definitely not "as good" as his numbers may have shown, but certainly took a step forward from where he was with the Bears. But, he was also clearly a limited QB - limited enough that one of the best coaches in the league benched him when he was running a 4-2 record. 

I wish him the best and I hope he fully figures it out.

The podcast I listen to said he wanted to reset the T market again with an updated contract (he is signed through 2026 at $21MM per year. (He got his $50MM signing bonus with the extension)

There was some chatter about his locker room presence being a problem (maybe projecting it if he doesn't get his contract). 

They said the value of the picks combined is equivalent to a first round pick, but they won't be able to get a plug in T with what they got back.
