In the top of the 10th with 2 outs and just the ghost runner at 2B last night the DBacks chose to IBB Turang and pitch to Chourio. Chourio ripped a triple to take the lead. What a monumentally stupid decision by a really good Manager.

 

Then the Brewers guy walked the bases  loaded with 0 outs in B10, hit the next batter, and Murphy left Williams in the pen as Suarez hit a GW shot off the wall.

 

2 really dumbfounding decisions.

Arizona is pretty F’d right? Whoever wins Game 1 is in and won’t be playing anyone in Game 2. I’d be pretty pissed if I was Arizona because they absolutely could have gotten these games in but didn’t.

Yep exactly what I was thinking. The fact that these teams have to play a freaking doubleheader and then turn around and play a best of 3 series the very next day suggests that whoever wins the first game is going to lay down for the second one. Screw integrity of the game crap, that’s an extremely unique position to be in and you can’t destroy your postseason hopes for the sake of giving the Diamondbacks a fair shot. Crazier things have happened but a split seems pretty likely

With roster limits there is only so much the Mets can pull their foot off the gas in game 2.  It would be very funny if the offense kept piling on in game two and the Braves missed the playoffs entirely after not wanting to reschedule these games to a less obnoxious time last week.

I guess if you're a DBacks fan, seeing both teams wear out the back end of their pens is a good thing though I'm sure everyone will be available for Game 2.
