I don't know if it's been mentioned here, but apparently Fields beat Cousins here in Week 1.

In roughly the same sense that Williams beat Levis today, which is to say that everyone involved sucked.

The bust talk is gonna be so horsefeathers loud. 30 something drop backs and not even 100 yards. I didn't watch a second but I have a hard time believing he didn't leave 100 more yards on the field. And taking a 20 yard sack? Wooooof

Take the win hopefully, this amongst the last times we'll have see a win in such a manner.

yep, at least caleb didn't make the back breaking mistake like rex, cutler, trubisky, fields (and levis) etc. made even when the offense couldn't do horsefeathers

also, i think that tennessee offensive line is pretty solid so i'm not super concerned about the pass rush as of right now. taylor looks like a real piece, billings and dexter had moments, and sweat is sweat.

on the flip side the interior OL looked like a disaster but that should be one of the best set of DTs we see all year

I suppose maybe he could've done better at getting rid of the ball, but the dude was in his face almost immediately, and when he tried to get away another dude was there. I'm not going to hold that against him. That's an online sack, not a QB sack.

So glad we pulled out the win but I was promised offense and we got less than last year’s team. Playing this way all season is going to keep us at home in January. Hopefully Caleb pulls his head out of his ass ASAP.

That wasn’t an acceptable excuse for the last QB.

On a play like that you just dive down to the ground, not retreat 10 more yards. You should never take a 20 yard sack unless it's a bad snap.

Hopefully that was the one and only time Caleb thinks he can outrun blitzing DE's like he did in college

Caleb WIlliams' reason for existence, or at least the reason he's the number 1 pick and any of us care about him, is supposed to be his ability to get off great throws in bad conditions.

Which he now has to learn to do, on the job, in games that count

This is what happens with absurdly high expectations.  Caleb gets no chance to even learn and grow.  The judgement hammer comes down immediately.

He was bad today.  Just have to hope he learns from it and improves next week.

I have far more hope that he can improve than I ever did with Fields.

Fields played the same, but more efficient game, that Caleb did today. Neither team scored an offensive TD.

Caleb did it in Start 1.

Fields did it in Start 1......of year 4.

Fields just made the exact same mistakes every single game for 4 years. The edit Caleb got in Hard Knocks at least looked like he was an active learner and humble enough to know that he has to improve

I don't think expectations forced him to throw for 93 yards.

nah, I think that dispite him saying he never gets nervous, he most certainly got nervous over the course of the game when an actual NFL defense threw him looks he like has never seen before.
