Is Amaya actually turning a corner?  He OPS'd .872 in July and is OPSing .730 for August.

Not saying he should be handed the starter role next season on a silver platter, but if he can get and keep his horsefeathers together, this team suddenly looks a heck of a lot better going into the offseason.

His defense is bad enough that he should never see that starting role. He's bottom 5% in everything catcher related minus blocking.

I wonder what it costs to hang onto Lopez for next year.  He's been legitimately great since he came over, and lately he's actually been doing it in leverage time.  If he costs ~$5M and is the "other" FA reliever added I think I'd be pretty down.
