Wow. Rosario is off to a great start. Gotta be getting close to a MB promotion. If I remember right he was an older prospect on draft day right?

Yeah, he was already 19 on draft day as a HS prospect.

Aliendo doubles up on bombs too! Don’t remember the last time I’ve seen 3 teammates all hit multiple bombs in the same game. Maybe never.

Cristian Hernández is up to a .917 OPS while striking out 14.3% and walking 10.2% of the time this season. He’ll be 20 all season.

Really good to see.  I'm generally of the mind that super young guys do get a mulligan year, but only one.  So Cristian doesn't have nearly as much work to do to get put of the doghouse as like Preciado.

Hernandez pulling out of it and this Rosario hubbub proving out even partially would go a long way toward making me feel good about the lower half of the system.  Coming into the year Rojas and Carico were the only stateside hitters under AA I felt all that good about.  Having four plus the inevitable reinforcements in July would make the farm a lot less lopsided.

Hernandez has worked really hard on his mechanics. He's making far more contact than he had in the past. What's great is to see the power come a bit; he had basically done nothing but get singles up until recently. I've still got hope he can get moving.

Sadly, one prospect rebirth might be the deathknell for another, because I think Hernandez will get an early-promotion if he keeps hitting and I'm not sure Ed Howard will survive that promotion.

Yeah, we'll see how that plays out.  Thus far this "breakout" season, he's at 3 XBH in 45 AB, of his 16 hits only 3 are for XB (including the HR.). When >80% of hits are singles, that's kinda Madrigal.  We'll see how it goes moving forward.

It's kind of Madrigal, but Nick Madrigal has found 3 wins of worth over <900 PA's in the MLB level. If Hernandez does that, based on how he looked the last two years...that's a win, so I'm fine with Madrigal...especially if it's Nick Madrigal the SS.

I'm encouraged with the changes, though and the progress. Something had to change and we're seeing changes. How well they apply to higher levels...well...that's the rub haha
