I think Cuas and Little make the final cut.  I think Edwards needs an injury to get in.  He needs to be on a team where he gets innings.

We will see. Because they have options I wouldn’t be shocked if Edwards beats one of them out. But I have no issues if they did keep those two. That would be my choice. But sometimes options come into play when defending who makes the team.

They'd also have to make a spot on the 40-man for Edwards, while the other guys are already on it.

I know, but I imagine there is someone they can take off the 40 man, if they wanted Edwards.

Mooney's article in the Athletic this morning makes it seem like Carl is making the team.  So we're presumably looking at a bullpen of

Alzolay

Merryweathet

Neris

Leiter

Almonte

Edwards

Smyly

TBD

That last spot I'd guess would be Little?  I think him not getting sent down at the same time as Palencia is somewhat notable.

So Cuas and Wesneski get sent down? Wesneski will probably be stretched out.

Well there you go. Guess the Cubs didn’t want to open up a 40 man spot. They also might want a little more flexibility with 2 spots in the pen as guys they can bring up and send down freely. So Little has to be one of those spots, right? I would guess Cuas is the second and Wesneski sent down.

I think it was this way from the time he signed with the Cubs. They gave him a spot to get some work in and audition for other teams. It happens every year.

I think that was always the most likely outcome, but I truly believe there was a slot there if he'd really looked incredible in spring training.

Or there was an injury.   Same with Cooper and Smith.   Cooper is in because Wisdom is hurt.  Hoyer did a good job making sure we had depth options.

What are the chances of seeing Caissie, PCA, Canario and Alcantara as the Cubs outfielders in 2025 ?

That would be cool

If it isn’t zero it is damn close to it. It would be cool if we want to rebuild AGAIN. Otherwise I do not care to see that. Not all of them as regulars, anyway.

Would not be cool. Either means Suzuki/Happ are injured or we are starting another rebuild.

We could see at least 2 of the 4 as regulars..

PCA in CF and either Caissie or Alcantara, I don't see it necessarily as rebuilding if they are as good as they have shown.

Cubs have a few solid position prospects that will be ready over the next 2  seasons, cant trade them all.

Theyll have 2 seasons left with Happ and Suzuki after this year, both can bring in solid returns in trades.

This likely means Madrigal is going to make the team even though he just got back into games yesterday.
