He called timeout and was shaking his hand like his wrist hurt. Trainers came out but he stayed in

Before the 5th he was stretching and flexing his hand/wrist for a minute, trainer came out and he said he was okay and then pitched the inning with the occasional shake/stretch of that area.

2nd time in his last 4 starts that Assad was able to go 7 IP. Crazy because it looks like his pitch limit is around 90 pitches. Exactly what we needed.

Seiya literally just stole a run with his baserunning

took the extra base on his hit, tagged up on gomes flyout, scored on a dribbler to the pitcher and had a perfect slide to avoid the tag

wRC+ was down to 96 at the start of his break from the lineup, now up to 113

His numbers this season are incredibly similar to what they were last year in similar playing time.

He probably won't continue to play at the level from this recent hot streak. We've got enough data at this point that I don't think he's going to become a star. He puts the ball on the ground too much to do that. But he's a solid contributor earning something near what he's being paid.

I think there's some hope that we're seeing an improved Seiya given the big change in his approach.

How do we petition Ross to move Seiya/Jeimer up in the order and Dansby/Happ down?

Give me:

Tauchman
Hoerner
Bellinger
Jeimer
Seiya
Happ
Dansby
Gomes/Amaya
Madrigal

Belli with 5 RBI and a HR short of the cycle

edit: guess they are calling it a double and advancing on the throw, nvm

I think there's some reasonable hope that he has a 130-135 wRC+ season in him over the remaining 3 seasons in his deal.  I'm not gonna hold my breath he hits 130 as some new norm over several seasons, but with the mitigating factors the last 2 years I think getting on the plus side of 3 fWAR at least once is a reasonable hope.

Brewers have tied it up and have the bases loaded and 1 out. Gonna have an 8 game winning streak going into Chicago it looks like

You apparently haven’t noticed what Tauchman’s done the past couple of weeks.
