Yep, for me with looking ahead to remainder of season, I'd like to see with Steele, Wesneski,  and one or two others from the system to finish in the rotation the rest of season to see if they can be a part of it next season.

Gotta get Mancini and his *checks notes* 74 OPS+ in there against the lefty, man.  And Yan Gomes and his 102 OPS+ is the natural choice for DH

Related, I was thinking about how any path to the post-season probably includes Steele continuing to dominate and Stroman at least setting down to his low 3 ERA self, if not back to those first couple months. You get those two back, and all of a sudden you're rolling into a short series with 2 of the top 15ish pitchers in baseball on the mound for a majority of the games in the series. Someone from the Wes/Kyle/Jameson/Smyly becoming a solid third is probably a requirement for getting to October anyways, but that's an enticing rotation in a playoff series.

My guess is the argument David Ross would give you is that More's defensively shaky at 3b, and has a 79 wRC+ against LHP on the season.  I'd counter with Wisdom being DH level bad at 3b, and Trey Mancini being worthless, personally, so I don't agree, but that'd probably be my guess.

Given how often this offense relies on gifts from the BABIP gods, they're going to need Wesneski to have any hope of making an extended playoff run, regardless of whether they trade Stroman.

Mikolas gets 5 games according to Robert Murray on Twitter... MLB Network guys acting like it's ludicrous.  Part of their argument was that he didn't hit him with a good fastball, and didn't get a warning before he hit him, but it's not like he wasn't trying to the pitch before

Well, Mikolas got suspended for 5 days.  If only they had taken the time to write the rule "It's totally cool to throw at a guy if he accidentally hit a catcher with his backswing" into the rulebook!  Damn those unwritten rules!

Morel has reverse splits vs lhp both this and last year.  He's hitting .192 vs LHP this year.  On the other hand, Wisdom sucks and so does Mancini.

True . But with the way he’s been swinging it last few days.  He’s in one of those stretches and I’m shocked they play “matchups” over their best players. Hopefully Mancini crushes a HR today and makes me look dumb

Dammit I thought Mancini had that one. I usually have a pretty good feel for HR balls off the bat on TV unless it’s dead center and I was pretty sure it was gone

With Ross putting out lineups like this, team is gonna have to work extra hard to have a playoff hopes despite him. This team has heavily underachieved and their Pythag record is a good indicator of that.
