This is the first one I didn't finish.  I can't believe Kershaw doesn't have 3000k yet (he's currently at 2910).  I put that guess in with full confidence.  Then stupidly tried Drysdale before realizing they didn't have to have 3k with the Dodgers, just 3k and play for the Dodgers so went with Maddux. I did enjoy making Jose Canseco my White Sox/Yankees guess which was at 0.5%.

I did BlackJack McDowell for that one.

I used Daniel Hudson for Sox/Dodgers. 0.2%

Didn't get Sox/Yankees. Because I struggled with 3000 Ks

I used Tim Raines (2%) and then Richie Sexson for MIL/NYY

I also used Tim Raines and I still don't fully believe that Prince Fielder didn't play for the horsefeathering Yankees. 8/9.

Locking in Esteban Loaiza for ChiSox/Yankees (1%) was satisfying. However I'm still flabbergasted to have learned that Cy Young didn't strike out 3000 batters.

Richie Sexson popped into my head as I vaguely remember a Yankees stint before the end of his career but wasn't confident enough to guess it.  Turns out he played the final 22 games of his career with the Yankees

6/9, wasted too many guesses on 3000 Ks / HOF fits (Clemens, CC, Thomas, Yount, ??)…got McDowell, blanked on Yankees/Brewers, Dodgers/White Sox too since it’s too early for Tim Anderson

Konerko immediately jumped into my head when I got to White Sox/Dodgers.  Kimbrel is another recent one.

I think that's what makes this so fun.  On the surface you think "How hard could it be to think of someone who played for both the Dodgers and White Sox?" and sometimes it is easy, other times you feel like an idiot because you can't think of a single name despite there surely being obvious answers.  Also for some reason my brain only wants to think about people who played from roughly 1995-2008

This is an absolute nightmare for those of us who live outside of a baseball world - one would have to be paying preposterous attention to complete a grid (I got 5/9 today, and was happy with that).

I've never paid the AL as much attention plus most of the teams today were ones that have been irrelevant for long stretches so yeah today was a mess.

5/9 today. The pitchers were easy, but I only got KC/BOS and SEA/CLE among the hitters

I was shocked that

Spoiler

Johnny Damon

was only 16% and that

Spoiler

Randy Johnson

was only 37%

8/9 today…missed Boston/Texas because I already used the only player that came to mind for Sea/Bos

Somehow Jose Canseco keeps popping up as an option for these grids.  That's who I used for Bos/Tex.  Corey Kluber is another one that popped into my head, though apparently he only pitched literally 1 inning for Texas so I'm not sure how I was able to remember him playing there.

Ryan Dempster for me. 5/9 overall because I swore Kevin Appier pitched for way more teams.

Brutal today (5/8)

What did you miss on?  I thought the 500 HR + 3000 hit parts were a breeze  (A's 3k Hits - Henderson, SD 3k Hits - Gwynn, Orioles 500 HR - Frank Robinson, Twins 500 HR - Killebrew, 3000+ hits and 500+ hrs is pretty easy unless you assumed someone like Babe Ruth was in both (only 2800 hits).  I went with Eddy Murray there).

I'm realizing that with the team squares, the answer either comes to me right away or I spent a crapload of time thinking of someone.  I did Dave Winfield for Padres and Twins, but havent had a chance to go back and do the other 3.

I used Murray for 500 HR but not 3000 hits

COMPLETELY blanked on Miguel Tejada's name. Refused to look it up.

I just discovered the game today, and intentionally bombed the player squares because I was curious how the game works. It's fun though, I'm definitely gonna keep playing.

Not using the easy answer of Pujols for the 3,000/500 seems like a miss.  He terrorized the Cubs long enough that we should all have Pujols PTSD.

I missed on 3,000 hits/500 home runs assuming Bonds was an easy answer knowing he played forever and had an average around .300 for his career. He was 65 hits short. I should've factored in his 2,558 career walks.
