As the Cubs sag in the standings, so to, does it seem, the enthusiasm to start gam threads. Forgive me for bogarting today's gam thread, but I home, bored, and available (my "go to" line to the ladies).

I just realized that after more than 25% of the season,  the Cubs's save leader is Boxberger with 2. That has to a record right?

I hate it.  I guess we were spoiled by the consistency of Harry & Steve, Chip & Steve, Len & Bob, Len & JD, etc.  Boog is fine, but I would prefer the Cubs find a quality broadcasting team who could be there every day.  I do like hearing Pat on TV, but it has a cascading effect of making the radio broadcast almost unlistenable when he isn't there.

Thru 3 innings, Walker has thrown a 1st pitch strike to ALL 10 batters he's faced.  Only three times have Cubs hitters swung at the first pitch. The other seven have actually been "right down the middle" strikes. 

Would like to see them be a little more aggressive second time thru the order.

Just turned this in mlbn. Pat is talking about multiple guys getting picked off 1st. Time to get the rest of my chores done today.

It's still early, but Mervis is hitting the ball on the ground way too much.

2 more weak contact at bats by Mervis. Starting to get enough PAs, where I'm worried. Also, this offense is laughably terrible.  Morel on a historic heater and they still suck.

I know I'm in the minority here, and some would consider it blasphemous, but I find Pat Hughes that great of a "fill in" PbP guy. I don't dislike him or anything. I just don't find him particularly interesting.

I’ve never been a big fan. He’s such a dullard. And constantly hawking his own cheesy products. Does he still do that stuff?
