The Cubs won their 7th straight game against the Phillies last night which is kind of hilarious.  Now a Cubs starter with a demonic ERA is facing a much better starter, albeit one who has looked mortal this spring

Why is Morel hitting 9th?

It's the new leadoff hitter

And by new, I mean 7 years old

Good thing we let Schwarber go so we'd have money for Taillon

Spoiler

Yes, I know that's not how that happened, but I'm still bitter

Could really use his -0.7 WAR this year 😂

7 starts into the season Taillon has yet to go beyond 5 IP (unless he manages to exceed that today), and has only allowed less than 3 ER once.

i still have hope for a turnaround - too much track record of being decent - but clearly he’s not right and whatever they are doing to get him on track is not working

too late to get a refund on the pitch lab?

He had such a great spring. He left everything in Arizona

2 1/3 is almost 5

It's got to be health related, he can barely throw a strike, 62 pitches, only 35 strikes, I sense a DL stint coming soon.

This bullpen is what angers me the most, Jed said something about finding more guys who can miss bats and get K's.  And, what does do?  Build a collection of relatively soft tossers, seems every other team is baseball has a least one guy in the bullpen who can bring the heat.  Cubs, it appears, don't have someone who can bring the in the heat in their whole horsefeathering system.

While I agree with your point, I must point out that Nick Burdi threw 100 yesterday.

I knew what I wrote was a bit of a fast take but, man, it's frustrating, watching the same soft tossing, sinker-slider pitcher come out the Cubs bullpen.

What's the point of pulling Rucker now?  Is Ross afraid the game is going to get out of hand?  Just let the POS finish the inning.
