Extremely hot take: I really like Mervis’s approach at the plate. Two walks today already, not chasing, looking for his pitches. I think he’s going to the starter before the end of the season.

Is that even a hot take?

I must have missed those ABs because the one I did see he looked absolutely hopeless.

This is one of the first times I can remember where both split squad teams were reasonably interesting instead of all of the fun players of course being on the non-televised game.

My hot take from Spring Training thus far is that they need to figure out something else for PCA's name on the back of his jersey. Having Crow-Armstrong curve down and around both sides of the number looks ridiculous. It would be cool if they just put "PCA" on there, but I suppose that may open a can of worms for players to have nicknames on their uniforms. But there must be something that can be done to make Crow-Armstrong look better. Edited by Irrelevant Dude

Is there another Canario in the system? I thought he was out for another few months at least, but it looks like he got a PA today and played an inning or two in LF?

Mis-id by the DBacks broadcast, it was apparently Jordan Nwogu.

Nwogu came in the game and was misidentified as playing 3B (he was in the OF).

BJ Murray also came in and was the one misidentified as Canario.

It was a multi mis-id. Murray was identified as Ngowu who was identified as Canario.

Watched Triantos in his last 3 ABs. Only one game, but he looked totally overmatched by a couple of JAGs. Two Ks (3 on the day) and a check swing dribbler. Not totally unexpected I guess.
