NFL clearly wants the Packers in the playoffs. They flexed GB-Det to Sunday night. It’s a win and in for GB but not Det. If Seattle beats the Rams, Det is out even if they beat GB. So if Seattle wins then Det has nothing to play for. What they should have done is put GB-Det on Sat night. You risk Seattle not caring in their game because they’re out of GB wins but they shouldn’t be worried about that. They also have Jags-Titans which is a true winner gets in game that should be the Sunday night game.

Reminds me of the Rich Peverley collapse. Dallas Stars player who finished a shift, went back to the bench and collapsed -survived. At this point the NFL should postpone the game until tomorrow night. Edited by sweetpeteman

I wonder if he had a heart attack, it never really seemed like he hit his head hard

I'm thinking more along the lines of possible catastrophic neck/spinal injury, but whatever it is clearly isn't good. I don't see how anyone can play after that.

End the horsefeathering game

Yeah. This isn’t just a bad injury like even a neck injury where the guy might be paralyzed but he’s not going to die. They did CPR on the field.

Don’t be like FIFA and make these dudes keep playing 30 minutes after nearly seeing someone die on the field (google Christian Eriksen if you don’t know what I mean). Suspend the game and play it tomorrow.

NFL do the right thing and suspended the game

Just call the game. Either call it a tie or cancel it. The option would cause the following:

- Cincy would clinch the AFC north

- Cincy would be eliminated from any chance at the 1 seed.

Seems like a fair trade-off, don't make the teams come out and play the game.

The players aren’t playing even if the NFL says to play. Assuming Hamlin pulls through, they’ll play tomorrow. I can’t see a cancellation or a tie.

18-24 hours isn’t making a difference. Call the game. Playing tomorrow isn’t making a difference with these guys mental states.

Apparently they are still going to try to reschedule the game. What does that even mean? This isn't MLB or NBA where you can squeeze a game in. There is less than 1 week remaining in the regular season.

Plus playing tomorrow gives them 4 days rest time for next week's game. I don't know why you can't see a cancellation or tie, there have been 2 ties this year already and it's not really hurting anything competition-wise to call it a tie.

If he lives and his condition improves, I could see them playing tomorrow. Anything else, I think they will play sometime in the near future.

This is just stupid doubling down on stupid. "Near future?" When? They have games scheduled for next week and are both in the playoffs. You planning on having them play 3 times in 7 days next week?

I know this isn't even worth the time it takes to post the link, but horsefeathers Lenny Dykstra.

And I'm removing the link to not draw any more attention to it.

Commotio Cordis, maybe?

I had never heard of this until tonight but after seeing what it is described in a tweet that seems very likely.

I had a very angry Carolina Panthers missive waiting to be posted yesterday if there had already been an NFL thread (wasn't gonna start another one). Seems very small to think of now
