399 more groundouts to the right side to go

Let me guess, he tried pulling an outside pitch and hit an off-balance dribbler

I will be very interested to see if there's a deep-dive story written someday on how exactly Jason Heyward's offensive ability went to complete horsefeathering horsefeathers the second he signed with the Cubs

It is absolutely insane that he is only 32 years old. It's like his career trajectory is 6-7 years ahead of the normal aging curve.

His mechanics have always been bad.

I'd be willing to bet heavy money that when he signed with the Cubs they tried to make swing changes to unlock that untapped power and apparently screwed him up permanently in doing so.

It was in fact reported at the time that the Cubs believed they could make changes to unlock his power. If you recall, they tried to do the same thing with Starlin Castro and it completely tanked his performance for 2+ seasons

I wonder why the Cubs have had such a difficult time developing prospects

I think he played through a wrist injury in ‘16 that he probably shouldn’t have, and never really got his swing back.

Madrigal did not look like the hitter I was told to expect in that AB

Guess I spoke too soon on Burnes not having it today, that was pretty dominating.

I’m so ready to hate Madrigal’s midget ass and his stupid slappy profile

All he needs is a perm and a pornshache and he could be Juan Pierre.

We've been blessed with mostly solid defensive 1B for the last couple decades. That is not the case this year.

More than a couple decades even... Durham, Grace, Lee, Rizzo

I always forget Durham was a good defensive player because....well you know
