Yeah, wouldn't expect him to say anything else. Also, FWIW, LaCanfora's article kinda sounds like he spoke to the Bears as they honored former trainer or something who died recently. Didn't make it sound like he spoke to them specifically about a position in the organization....which again, is expected to keep a rumor as vague as can be. Sounded more like connecting dots.

Rumors Bears are thinking about modernizing football operations with a football guy (Rick Smith was mentioned a couple days ago)

Trace Armstrong would be a good Pres. of Football Ops based on his experience as a player, NFLPA Pres, agent, football guy

Trace Armstrong recently in Chicago and played for the Bears

He spoke with ownership (not hard to speak to people at the same event)

He's agent for Ryan Day

He played with Raiders head of player personnel

LaCanfora so like I said, grain of salt for sure. But it's definitely something that you can see happening when you connect some dots. Though, I don't see the Day thing happening. Armstrong also represents Josh McDaniels and several other coaches.

Yea it's almost certainly not true, but the statement would basically be identical whether it was true or not.

I've seen Armstrong floated before, but this is the first article that's tried to pass it as an actual thing and not just throwing out ideas.

I often mock the "Bears should hire a Football man as President" takes, but Armstrong is actually somewhat believable in a Pres role, working on both business matters and oversight of a GM, without actually just being the GM. Presumably Ted would still be CEO, but more focused on stadium deal now and perhaps handing over the mantle to Armstrong in time when he decides to retire.

Trace is more than believable in a president role. He's damn near ideal with his experience and connections.

Ideally I'd probably want someone with some tram side experience. His is players/coach side. You've seen the agent route in basketball a little, but weren't those guys who started their own firms? I don't think thats Trace.

But whatever business/team side he lacks, he's presumably gonna come in under Ted for a while still anwyays and he could slowly add that aspect to his knowledge base.

But I'd gladly take him. Whatever he lacks it's beleivable he can build on it. Definitely seems well respected. And he isn't just a GM-personnel type that someone wants to call President.

Fields needs to hit that throw on 3rd down but I feel like the Bears playcalling inside the 10 is terrible.

DBs arm is around Kmet’s waist but not called. Ball’s on target where he was going to be.

Little concerned about Fields…

If it looks easy, it's not in the NFL. He thought that was pitch and catch, long delivery and didn't put enough juice on the ball.

Yeah that’s not even close. Covered 6 ways to Sunday. If he can’t see that it’s concerning.
